Re: Wanted rough Kanguro or similar
It was probably bought by a breaker who could easily double his money on low mileage parts. Twenty two years is a long time for a bike to be laid up. Everything would have to be gone over, and by the time it's shipped over and registered the cost would have at least doubled. Probably a good thing it...

Re: Wanted rough Kanguro or similar
Had to put this on to get you going.. Yes it's light years away , even for me it's a 720mile round trip here in Catalunya.. and yes broken cam belt means problems , but with the later engine the push rods should have taken the brunt of any impact. Good news is the engine turns over fine. Full engine...

Re: Green Lanes by Morini
I sympathise! Wet and mud aren't the default over here in Catalunya, so when it's about I try to push myself to get out there, the thinking being sooner or later I'll be back in the UK where it's the norm most of the year. It's not a happy medium and I've been spat off a few times when it's wet, usu...

Re: Alternative Handlebars
When I rebuilt my 74 Strada it had ape hangers on it. Nothing wrong with that , very comfy in fact. I wanted something closer to spec but couldn't find original Strada bars anywhere at the time. I did find some second hand 80's Triumph Bonneville bars on ebay which had more or less the same profile ...

Lots of information on the dutch morini club site. (technical/350 engine)
Comparisons with photos between strada and sport pistons.
It's even in English.

Re: Green Lanes by Morini
Here in Spain, it's the reverse. It's the walker who is stigmatised, not the trail rider, the cyclist or the quad biker etc. Walking is for peregrinos (pilgrims), goat herds, footpads, bandits, the very poor or the insane. I do a lot of walking here with the dog . I'm still not sure which category I...

Re: New to me mk1 Camel in OZ.
Yes, some kind of breather /overflow. On the 501 Camel theres a keyhole casting with a 3mm pipe in the middle on either side of the carb. Two green rubber pipes are routed above the carb and vented to air on the chassis cross tube (4 in all for both carbs) It all looks a bit Heath Robinson but aaran...

Re: New to me mk1 Camel in OZ.
I'm not sure about that. My forks seem to harden up after time and hard use, so once in a while I jack the front up and release any trapped air , very little escapes but it's enough to make a difference.

Re: New to me mk1 Camel in OZ.
I don't know if this applies to the Camel 500, but on the 501 Camel II , the air is bled with the front wheels off the ground ( full fork extension)

PM me if you want some photos.
The left hand image under pickups-'electronic ignition' in the Dutch Morini site shows the difference between the early and later versions and their magnets.

Re: Pick up needed urgently
I have a good used second series red pickup ( metal strips approx. 7-8mm wide).
You need the later type of magnet for this one...
