I can't answer your questions but I do have a '76 strata with an X1 engine fitted. Only significant difference is electronic rev counter rather than the original mechanical one.

Engine doesn't have electric start and is a 12v system.

Thanks to all of you for the comments and information. I will check the carbs as I'm running the original strada airbox. I'm not concerned about originality and the engine runs nicely so I'm happy with it just interested to understand the difference. Only issue I had when rebuilding was miss matched...

I have a 19977 Strada that I bought a good few years ago and have rebuilt. It came with a replacement engine from a Kanguro X1, the non-originality doesn’t bother me but I’d be interested to understand the differences between this and the original. I believe it has plated barrels (Nickasil?) but not...

I gave up looking and ended up buying a fibreglass replica from NLM. Not what i wants but to be honest now the bike is painted in doesn't make any noticeable difference. If you have your heart set on a metal one I seem to remember NLM had some used ones in stock but at a price...

Thanks Hombre. I've collected various springs, ball bearings and copper strip and I'm going to have a go at repairing the original switch.

Checked out NLM and they do have the compete unit but a bit more than a can afford at the moment. Anyone go a used part?

The Indicator switch has failed on my 1977 strada. Does anyone have a replacement indicator / lights / horn switch?

NLM do sell a replacement, fits the frame fine but if i remember correctly the rubber boot doesn't fit snugly as the switch has a smaller diameter than the original. I managed to find an original replacement on ebay.

anyone know where you can get the jubilee clips with threaded lugs used to attached the heat shield to the exhaust?
