corsarino

h-bar switch (Small).jpg corsarino (Small).jpg hello, lockdown has brought out this project which has been in bits for about 12 years, it was dated by NLM as 1971, it's 4 speed, and unrestored (and not needing to be). it's now back together as you can see. But i can't remember much about it when i ...

electrics on 76 Strada

i have 2 early stradas, both with NLM transducers and pick-ups and rewound stator/remag rotor....one works fine, the other produces no sparks....is there any way i can use the good one and somehow connect it up to the duff one for testing ,without having to go through the substitution routine...any ...

Re: electrics on 76 Strada

have carried out some more tests, ammeter inline with battery, i only get 2A max (maxes at about 2000rpm), and, when headlights are switched on, it shows a small discharge (i guess 2A , as headlight consumes about 4A), so how do i check output from the alternator? (As i don't want to buy a new reg i...

Re: electrics on 76 Strada

just been for a run, came back, put a voltmeter across battery, 13.7V at idle, 15V at 6000ish rpm....connected an ammeter in line with positive battery wire, only got 1A, presumably all points to regulator problem? Would the bang have anything to do with rewired stator? I don't want to be chasing my...

Re: Breather pipes and rev counter

i've looked closely at the crankcase breather on my Strada, and the way the baffles are orientated, it looks the passage of air is blocked where the 2 baffles meet. When running the engine, there doesn't seem to be any air flow from the breather, and a thumb held over the end generates no back press...

Re: electrics on 76 Strada

all fuses ok, battery shows no signs of leaks, but i reckon its the battery as, although it read 11.8 V, i put it on charge, charger started flashing, now that doesn't work! the schematic diagram in my manual shows a fuse between the battery and the generator, although the circuit diag doesn't show ...

electrics on 76 Strada

i had got back the fully rewound stator and remagnetised rotor, (after frying the stator due to connecting up battery the wrong way round), reassembled evrything, cleaned all electrical contacts, found the wrong connection on the headlight (a positive was connected to earth), installed only a 3Ah ba...

Re: importing bike from Italy

well, that went horribly wrong...the Italian sold me a bike with a bent frame....it took me a few days before i noticed it, but the headstock is angled, see http://s255.photobucket.com/user/ade55/library/morini%20strada?sort=3&page=1 so the front wheel is canted over, so now i'm looking for an e...
