Re: 250 2C
Sorry about the confusion, I'm still recovering from Stafford. An unmatched pair of ignition units is not an ideal situation. As for the 'device', I can't be sure... In any case, I'd remove it and go to a stock setup. Thanks anyway, Paul. I intend fitting a matched pair of transducers and removing ...

Re: Why no 250 V-twin section?
Indeed! - Now, perhaps it would also be possible to move the currently active 250 posts in 'Tre e Mezzo' to '250 Vee'?George 350 wrote:Well Done Tom.

Yes, it's a 1984 model, from Spain. The Piaggio transducer is also 'made in Spain'72degrees wrote:
Yet the later 250 l have also has one (whereas my 1980 version doesn't). Did yours come from Spain? Perhaps original equipment for some markets?
Re: 250 2C
If you look closely at the device you'll see a diode symbol on it. Yes, thanks Paul, the diode is visible in the 'chocolate block' and is where it is shown on the wiring diagram. The thing I don't understand is the plastic tube (looks like an electric motor starter) with 2 green, 1 blue and 1 yello...
250 2C ignition
Hello folks, thought I'd slip this into an existing Topic. I am puzzled by the transducer arrangement on my newly acquired 250. The bike is fitted with a square grey transducer and a black Piaggio transducer, the pick-up is black. Now the alternator feeds to the ign switch via the diode (as per wiri...

Re: First Questions - Camel
You do need a flywheel puller - but they're not expensive and are the same as most scooters. If you have an air gun it's easy to rattle-off the nut (apparently), if not you probably need to make a sort of peg spanner to locate in the flywheel holes. Belts are expensive from NLM (in my opinion) as th...

As a 'new' owner (actually I had one for a few weeks some time back) I agree, I now need to pick some brains.

Re: Replacement Electronic Ignition
It's well worth going through the article on the motomoriniclub.nl site which covers the ignition system. Plenty of advice on replacement parts as well as alternatives.

Re: 250C2 parts
Re the ad in Subito - yes I've seen it and no, I didn't get any reply. I am currently just cleaning up, replacing wheel bearings (all open and stuffed full of gritty grease), cleaning carbs, etc, before seeing how (if) it runs. Then I'll need a new chain and sprocket set at least. Oh, and I have a p...

Re: k1/2 models
...No decision made on purchase yet. It is a toss up between the k2 and a gs650 funduro with full luggage. At 6'2" the latter makes a lot of sense! Well, I've had an F650 Funduro and now have a Dakar, both comfortable though I preferred the Funduro. I couldn't compare either with a Morini, tho...

Re: Twin front disc conversion
Might be easier trying a smaller master cylinder, which should give better 'feel' to the brakes.
Otherwise, I have a spare disc and caliper, though another lister has already asked about them.

Re: 250C2 parts
Curiouser and curiouser. Looks like this was a Fred Flintstone Special. I have all the right parts - but not necessarily in the right order. Looks like the footrests and pedals have been 'converted' into rearsets by cutting and welding (plus the addition of a sidestand bracket which is truly horribl...

Could be interested in the pipes. As for brake and gear pedal, I think I need these two. (PO used Neanderthal methods to 'modify' them).
Re: 250C2
It actually fits OK, just looks a bit 'moche' (ugly / unsightly in French)!
