250C2 parts

It looks like I'll be needing a few bits for the little V:

Brake pedal (left hand)
Gear lever (right hand)

Possibly a set of exhaust pipes, definitely a right hand silencer.

If anyone has anything mentioned above (or just available), please let me know.

Re: Dart Knowledge...

Don't know if it's of use here, but I've just come across a recent post in ' Tre e Mezzo' under the title ' Colander Tank' which mentions a company in India that will produce tanks in steel, fibreglass or aluminium if given a sample. Might be worth a look?

Standard collets fit both nuts with no problem.

Re: 250C2

Some progress, or should that be regression? Took the silencer off, it looked to be in good condition from the chrome but when I turned it over it was rusted through at the back, then the baffles fell out in dozens of bits from the inlet! The 2 into 1 exhaust is definitely home brewed, the front pip...

Re: 250C2

1st job - change the cam belt. 1st problem - the flywheel nut had been tightened with a hammer and chisel, but with a bit of filing I got a socket on and it wasn't very tight. 2nd problem - one of the hammer blows had deformed the lip of the flywheel so I couldn't get the puller in, luckily the flyw...

Re: 250C2

If it's a 'home-brew' the exhaust system looks pretty good. I think the bars are original - though in an upright position. The foot controls appear to have been cut in half and re-welded to be shorter ( :? ), the plastic instrument console has split (don't they all) and the fuel tank appears to leak...

Well - look what just turned up!
Looks pretty complete with new tyres too, missing the key to the fuel tank though.

Re: Compression and magnetics

The ignition coil is relatively simple to rewind, if a bit fiddly. Have a look on the Dutch Moto Morini site, there is an article on there about it. (motomoriniclub.nl)
If you want to remagnetise your rotor, try a scooter mechanic, they have a similar system.

350 Strada rebuild

350Sport.jpg Strada resize.jpg This started many years ago as a 'Sport' bought from NLM, after several years I dveloped back problems and in a brainstorm decided to return it to the original Strada spec (big mistake!) 8 years later I've finally got her running again (no big deal, she was in big bit...

Re: Throttle cable run

Thanks for that - however, I think I've sorted it. Along the top tube right side, through the forks and loop over the brake lever in a generous arc.
Anyway, fired up OK yesterday and seems to run OK like that (though I still have the tank, instruments and headlight to mount).

Re: 250 twin advice wanted

Do you mean the connections to the original Decatielettronica regulator (as described by Paul - I think), or a more modern regulator? I have a Boyer Bransden 'Power Box', the connections to which are: 2 yellow to the ac input and leave the red isolated and tied back. I may have a wiring diagram, I'l...

Sounds as if it was not too happy! I have found that a Suzuki SV / Bergman reg rec is about the same, but needs the connector changed to fit the Kokusan orientation (and it's freely available).

Throttle cable run

Hello folks, despite searching I can't find the following info: I'm rebuilding a Strada (only taken about 8 years so far  ) and am at the throttle cable stage. I have a twin pull twistgrip and could do with a picture of a typical cable run, so if anyone has their tank off at the moment I'd be ...

Keep on 'perfecting' - in my experience the off-roaders (well, Kanguros anyway), are really comfortable bikes and handle well, too.
If I could find a good electric-start one I'd snap it up.

You mention it's a US import - I think they may have been jetted differently. Have you looked on the Dutch website?
