Starter motor clutch shoes

Good morning all Some regular readers may recall that my very early electric start motor revived from a couple of degreasing sessions and then threw a wobbly and I had to source new brushes etc. I have survived all that and have been using the kick start meanwhile. However, I am now trying to recomm...

Re: CDI mal function ?

Hi Steve Thanks for the rapid response I have a multi-meter and will be starting that game this afternoon. I have also ordered new plug lead cable from Mdina. Happily for me, Doug has suitable new/old stock coils in stock if they are needed. I would like a circuit diagram of the complete ignition sy...

The bike cruises ok but is rough around the first part of the the throttle opening and seems to go intermittently onto one cylinder. Tick over sometimes happens; mostly not at traffic lights although it...

Re: 1976 Starter motor field coils

I will look at the 500 thread when I get back from a visit to a well known local mender of electric motors. I am fearful of the price I am likely to be given!!

Re: 1976 Starter motor field coils

Good morning
Thanks for the quick response
I have not done anything to the clutch although I probably should consider the bushes.
There is plenty of meat on the shoes with a around 5mm at the max.

1976 Starter motor field coils

O dear. Can any one tell where I can get a new or second hand coil or can some clever chap strip back...

Front fork oil check

Happy New Year one and all. Having just changed the oil seals on the front forks of my daughter's Honda 400/4 my thoughts turned to my 3 1/2 and thought that I might change the fork oil. The Blue book is rather short of detail and I do not know what the socket on the head of the forks is for. I am r...
