I used a DTI to find TDC & found rotor timing marks to be 1.5 - 2deg out.

Re: Headlight wiring
Try this wiring diagram. The headlight housing is an earth point as are the indicator mounts, these are a known issue. Re: Black engine cases
I had my engine cases enamelled when I was working for an aero engine overhaul company, has lasted 20+ years. You can see the bike on oilysmudges.com.

Re: Need help with 2 things
You have to be careful with the rear bearings as there is a 'sleeve'/shoulder in the centre of the bearing & is part of the bearing spacer. All I did was get a very, very good fit bar & drifted it out & one bearing out. The idea way is to use a press. hydraulic/fly. Use the old bearings ...

Re: Regulator Batt Sensing
If I can do it safely I will run the bike at 5K spluttering & stop the engine & pull the front plug to see what its like but i have to remember I now have 7's fitted & not 6's. The 6' have been contaminated with additives & ceramic doesn't give any 'reading' to interpret rich/lean.

Re: Regulator Batt Sensing
I spoke to Dellorto about the atomisers & hole arrangement, the holes that are further up make it leaner, compare 260K with a 258BD, 258BD hole arrangement is slightly different & is a slightly leaner atomiser, didn't work that well for me, made everything too lean. The only issue I have is ...

Re: Regulator Batt Sensing
Your correct, I have the RED Manual from Benji Straw (Wee-Vee) & it does state 98 with seal & 112 without, mine is without seal & 112 main jet, this is going down to 110 & see if that helps. After that I am going to adjust the ignition timing slightly (max 4deg) to see if that helps ...

Re: Regulator Batt Sensing
I thought I could improve on the wiring & give me another connection point as 2 of the brown wires had melted protection sleeves. I have now fixed this issue & my lights work all the time & not just randomly, also strangley the bike runs slightly better as well. Returned float heights to...

Regulator Batt Sensing
The brown wire off the regulator that is used to 'see' the battery voltage, wouldn't this be better connected directly to the battery?

You could try & plug it into the opposite transducer to see if that fixes it.

Re: Excessive Oil in head breather tube
Just for reference regarding compression's on a 3 1/2 Strada, I'm getting 160psi on the front & 155psi on the rear, so I would have thought 130psi maybe getting toward the low side. I don't have an absolute minimum running compression to go by. Carry out compressions & get a reading then add...

Re: Excessive Oil in head breather tube
I had excessive oil coming from the main breather (not rocker covers) when the engine was hot so I added an oil catch can & now the problem has gone away.
Still have separator fitted & using a K&N vent filter on the exhaust of the catch can.

Re: Pilot jet sizing
Thank you. I suspected that the E24 needle was wrong. I also noticed that even though these carbs are fitted to my sport using the rubber connections, the carb has the internal sleeve from an older fixed mounting. In your picture you appear to have the plastic insert recommended for use with the ru...

Re: Pilot jet sizing
Going by what you've said about the jet sizes, looks like carbs. from a sport model. These carbs. are the same as I have fitted on a 350 Strada & original jettings would be idle #50, choke #50, needle E17, atomiser 260K & main #112 (#115 for sport). In a previous post on this thread I have l...
