Re: Pressed early double drum side panels
These comments apply to fitting - or trying to fit - the early 350 steel side panels to a 1980 500. You might be able to do it with a bit of mucking around. On the left, the 350 steel side panel's lower/front edge fouls the 500 frame, leaving the bottom mounting point of the panel 12 mm or so out fr...

Re: 500W project nearing completion
If my 500 ever looks like that I would be very happy. Mine has the same paint on the tank, side covers and tail - red with white and black pin striping, but with a red frame, gold wheels and red-painted steel mudguards - not stainless steel. I could swear that the mudguards received one coat of pain...

The exhaust half rings: do you have a friend with a lathe who could make them for you?

See this thread:

The mounting brackets for the clutch lever/front brake lever on 1975 Sports and Stradas are the same. Also, the clutch and brake levers will be the same.

Re: WEIRD CARBURATION FAULT
On both heads of my '75 350, the flanges of the metal inlet manifolds have cupped slightly. If I ever get this thing back together I must remember to carefully sand the flange so that it's flat/true (on some plate glass perhaps) and/or use some sealant between the flange, gasket and 'antithermic fla...

Re: Mazocchi Fork length(s)
Paioli forks from a 75 350 Strada: 600 mm long. Marzocchi forks: 606 mm long; (I guess they are Marzocchi, and for a 75 350 Sport).

Re: Question on wheel build
Before I dismantled my 75 Sport rear wheel (Borrani rim, of course) I made one note. The wheel is still in pieces but I have set up the hub and rim on their sides on a flat surface, correctly placed - as well as I could do - in relation to each other to simulate an assembled wheel. The cush drive si...

Re: Anyone know about these gauge mounts?
They are from an early Strada. The tacho and speedo fit into rubber mounts, which fit into the brackets. Warning lights fit in the small holes. http://www.startgomma.com show the rubber mounts on their web site for 80 euro a pair.

Re: Early Strada Rear Light
The early 750 GT Ducati had a round tail light; I don't know if it's the same as on the early Morini 350. Is it worth checking out Ducati parts suppliers?

Re: Left side shift
That's a very nice bike. I think the grey-finished mag wheels go well with the silver tank and side panels, the chrome and the polished and cast aluminium.
