Re: Disasembly of Cylinder-head & replacing Valves and guides

Do you remember which brand of valve stem sealings you are using? Mine are obviously of wrong type as both intakes are covered with oil.
Originals do not fit here as they are for bigger outer diameter valve guide

Re: Disasembly of Cylinder-head & replacing Valves and guide

Hi Iakoslegal

How are your valve guides? Have you checked if intake valves are clean, not covered with debris and engine is not consuming oil? How much have you driven after valve job?

Re: 9 1/2 Engine rebuild II

Exhaust valves... As you may recall i was forced to replace one exhaust valve. When i saw how much nicer new exhaust valves was, i could not resist to change them all. Here you have some pictures and arguments why this was a must. Initial plan was to use old exhaust so they are rebuilt as well, but ...

9 1/2 Engine rebuild II

Heads are done and ready for coating. Peter at company Virtauskansi did really a first class job. He thinks we might get some 10-15% more flow by this. He also found some nasty brittles on intake seats. Luckily they are horisontally thus not altering tightness. And three pictures... Notice how smoot...

Hi

As a IT professional I sure understand your situation. Unfortunately my limited abilies are on MS side and i presume this site is running on some Unix variant. What kind of help do you need? You can mail to my private address if you prefer.

May be old fashioned, but it works. You may notice there is no advertising on the website!
Some manual labor done in old fashion way ;)

But thanks anyway. My png pictures got halved in size.

Still hoping for bigger quota...

Re: 9 1/2 Engine rebuild

Grooves and cones done on new bronze valve guides. Pictures of DIY porting or rather smoothing and better fitting parts together. Took maybe 4h
Finishing is done by pro machinist. Peter will sharpen the intake dividers and glas bead blast intake channels.

Hope someone can measure the correct height.

Re: More space

You have right, there should be a auto downsizing and that way it will not harm readability. You can make them quite small when properly done. I also presume write usage of this site is not very intense so DB growth is already quite moderate. Most of time we do not even need pictures to make our mes...

Hope administration are able to make it easy for ...
