Re: What can we do with worn [out] rockers?
If you buy replacement rockers, I just want to say it would be a waste to throw the old ones away. They are slowly becoming more and more rare...

Re: What can we do with worn [out] rockers?
There are Stellite rods for hardfacing. It's likely Morini used this originally. If they did not, this procedure would make the rockers even more wear resistant. Here's a nice topic about resurfacing Honda CB450 cam followers (very similar function, but these wear out much faster because they slide ...

Re: Welcome new forum members - introduce yourself
Hello, I am probably among the youngest Morini riders. Im 20 years old, but I owned a few 350 Morinis. I was always around bikes (thanks to my father). My first road bike was a 73' CB360 (24 years older than me). I guess the japanese did not convince me too much, and I soon switched to a 77' V35 Mot...

Re: What can we do with worn [out] rockers?
It's not too hard to resurface them. Need to make a pivoting rig to slide it in a certain radius across a grinder. And weld it up with TIG, with some very hard tig stick. Resurfacing them and then hard-chroming them would give you a really hard face. I don't think it would wear the valve too much ei...

Re: 500 Front Brake
Is that perhaps the Grimeca master cylinder that was otherwise used on Kanguro models? Not sure if they were 13mm, but I do know they looked very similar, with the plastic inclined tank.

These are probably hard to find. But they are relatively easy to make on any decent lathe, and that would likely be considerably cheaper.

Re: Electric Start Conversion.
My Morinis start on the first or second kick with my right leg. But I just cannot kick it enough to start when cold with my left leg. I often tried, and after few attempts, I just always put it on the centre stand (or my kanguro on the side, since it does not have a centre stand) and it again starte...

Re: Electric Start Conversion.
Also, the generator rotors were different (or does that clutch ring snap on any rotor?). I guess some high-tech modern small battery would work, but if it were me, I'd want the biggest one that can be used. The left-side kickstart on Morini has always troubled me - normally, I get off the bike and s...

Re: Left side shift
I think the grey-finished mag wheels go well with the silver tank and side panels, the chrome and the polished and cast aluminium. Well, the chances of me finding nice spoked Morini wheels in good condition for little money are slim any way. At least, if I do find them, I will definitely not sell t...

Re: Left side shift
I do not know why the picture got cropped. I have found another (more recent) photo (with original Lafranconi exhausts and a brand new Grimeca disc, and the shift linkage and brake components were fully fabricated). I have resized it, so hopefully the forum will show a whole photo. https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Refurbishing threads
Local mechanic shops may also have sets (at least the standard ones), and they normally do not charge too much for inserting them (less than buying the whole kit). But if you often do mechanical stuff, it's not bad to have a few at home either way.

Re: Handlebar fairing
I had a 77' V35 Guzzi, and it had a somewhat similar fairing. The stock mirrors were all broken plastic (a bit like old car mirrors). I've fitted standard round chromed ones. Because they were mounted high on the fairing, I could see everything behind me easily. It also did not look too wrong... htt...

Re: Possible disc replacements
I am quite certain some Italian bike used the same 7 spoke Grimeca wheels with brembo cast iron discs (pprobably some smaller 500 or 350 Laverda), similar to what Guzzi used. The cast iron discs rust, but they last almost forever and work really well (better than most stainless discs). My firend use...

Dart clutch cover
Hello, I am trying to find a photo of a Dart clutch cover. I heard they had an external oil cooler, and I am really interested how the clutch cover looked. Is it the same as on the old models, or is it a completely different cast (like on the New York and similar)? I had the idea of somehow fitting ...

Re: Refurbishing threads
A quality helicoil in aluminium will last a long while (for the valve cover screws).
For the frame mount, you may have trouble finding a correct helicoil insert (although I imagine lots of stuff can be found online, f.e. ebay).
