I have some 400K (German model) Nikasil barrels the fins have a rounded shape i.e not square like on K5 so they look like original barrels with liners - i will check to see if they have Gilardoni on them. I think they work out as 390cc, but that's from distant memory

Re: Dart trouble
Hi, Bike I believe was off road for approx. ten years before I got it but I haven't had any rear carb flooding problems, does this point to anything. The concern is that bikes stored for a long period of time without taking steps to prepare for storage have common issues. Those relevant to the Dart ...

Re: MRC 2019 Rally Arrangements
Huge thanks to the organisers for a great weekend. The location was perfect with camping on the river bank. Highlights : The walk into Tewkesbury on the Saturday morning to the cafe chocolat; laps of the field on the Corsaro and Corsarino on Single Sunday.
Thanks

Re: Dart trouble
Hi seventy plus
I have some questions has the bike been stored or left fo a long time on the side stand rather than on paddock stand. Have you had problems with fuel overflow from rear carburettor.

Re: No spark back cylinder
The alternator waveform isn't sinusoidal because it hasn't been deigned to produce a sinewave. The capacitor is only charged on the positive half cycle, so there can't be any capacitive loading on the negative cycle and yet the waveform is quite symetrical. Paul is quite right, there is a diode in ...

Re: No spark back cylinder
Hi Alan, Often its the way that simply cleaning up the connections fixes things. So this evening I popped the tank off and replaced the HT leads. Whilst doing so I measured the resistance on the green wire...183 ohms so it's a bit on the low side. 183 ohms is low, whilst the bike starts OK i guess y...

Re: No spark back cylinder
Hi Alan, Thanks for the information. What type of plugs do you have fitted, as you have resistor caps its considered better to use non resistor plugs eg NGK BP7ES The blue ducati transducers are OK. The third series grey transducers (323982) will run with red pick up, but they add an additional diod...

Re: No spark back cylinder
Hi AlB Please can you tell us the model and age of the bike and the ignition set up you have as it will help us with diagnosis. Also: The pickup type (red or black) whether marked as Ducati or not. The transducer type (flat black, grey or grey with bulge or even blue, or black with bulge ) and note ...

Re: Ignition help.
Hi Stu, No worries. I assume then you have the original flat sided black transducers, if you can read the part number then it helps to identify them. If you can resize a picture of the pickup it would help. If you have access to a computer then windows paint can do it. The slots for the pickup get d...

Re: Ignition help.
Hi Stu, I am not sure I know what is wrong, if anything serious, with the pickup. If you resolder the wires will it be ok? I can't tell as you say it is split? For the rotor its important that you have the correct washer as per the picture. Also there should be large o.d. washers + a spring washer, ...

Re: Ignition help.
Hi Stu The metal shroud has cracked on the rotor but to be honest I think going new my be the best option for reliability. Is you rotor like the one in the attached pic?, this is a second series rotor. The washer is also shown. The standard pickups are quite reliable if they haven't been messed abou...

Re: Ignition help.
Hi Stu, Please can you post pictures of the pickup and rotor, there are three main types of pickup and two types of rotor. Someone may have a spare rotor depending on which type. The rotor should have a special cup washer, they often fall apart if this is missing. Pickup may be repairable especially...

Re: Clutch basket noise
Hi Weevee The crankshaft nut is definitely loose so will tighten and hope all comes right That make sense we thought of a loose nut. And as I said at the beginning, Also there is a long standing worry among the Morinisti that the nut securing the primary drive gear could be loose. Thought's of this ...

Re: Clutch basket noise
Hi weevee, The bush (350 part 25.03.05) within the primary driven gear is only operational when the clutch is disengaged and wear in this bush or the sleeve is really only likely on very high mileage engines, i have only ever needed to change this bush twice and on each occasion i also changed the s...
