Re: Ignition starting problem

Check your voltage ignition on at the coils, you can get significant voltage drop with resistance in ignition switch/kill switch etc, check all earths, block connectors. These things are rarely component failure more likely something working lose / bad connector. Fresh head and cup of tea.

Re: Ignition starting problem

If bike ran fine, then stopped I’m wondering if it’s charging properly-as voltage drops below 12v the sparks dies .

Re: stuck flywheel!

I always coppaslip ( love the stuff!) on the flywheel removal tool threads and on the bolt where it bares on the crank, when you nutgun it off it helps by being quicker and applies more torque. Did mine the other day and the alternator loom was nearly rubbing on the belt, could have been nasty!

Re: Brake caliper not clearing disc.....

I had a similar problem, when braking I could hear a slow tick from front brake, one per revolution of wheel. Turns out the front wheel has Been laced with thicker gauge spokes and would only just clear the back of the calliper, when braking the flex imposed just pushed calliper to strike a spoke, a...

How did he make his woodbine last until Ballaugh Bridge? When and how did he intend to light it? Fabulous picture.

Re: Renewing fork oil

Firstly make sure you undo the top yoke clamps, will make undoing fork cap a lot easier, secondly if you put copper slip on fork cap threads When replacing it will stop it galling, I then ,using a palm wrench, apply pressure but turning anti-clockwise wait for the “click” as the cap drops into the s...

Re: STRADA BRAKE PADS-SHOES

Norbert you are absolutely right, they did come with cast wheels, previous owner fitted wires to mine . Your second point about the smaller drum - I’ll have to go and check before I order the wrong ones! Many thanks, Jason

Re: STRADA BRAKE PADS-SHOES

Thanks very much John, proper reply! I’ve just got back from riding down from Dunkery beacon, the fronts are ok at the moment but the rear shoes are a bit vague to say the least. The chrome on my front disc is really good and the last thing I want to do is wreck it with the wrong pads. I saw the EBC...
