Re: Exhaust Removal -Help!!

Alex does like to do the nuts up very tight! Mine don't seem to come undone with moderate tightening, but my preferred approach if they did would be to take a good quality stainless pipe clamp and weld a tab to it to engage with one of the castellations. I seem to recall seeing some bikes that went...

Re: Exhaust Removal -Help!!

Plusgas is the one true penetrating fluid. Leave it to soak for 24 hours. If the bike is a runner get it really hot before trying to shift the nuts. Differential expansion of head and nut might help - though if brass it might not, anyone know for sure? I use a Brotool articulated 'hook' spanner. It ...

Re: Greetings from a new south coast member

Tarozzis went on the 77 frame OK in harmony with what I *think* is a Ricky Racer 2:1 system. Getting the rear brake on to my liking was a bit trickier. Beware loosening footrest bolts. They are not easy to get at once the rearsets are in position. I had a sweary half hour yesterday putting the 2:1 b...

Re: New to the Morini 3 1/2 Sport

Sint AGIP 2000 was what Morini specified later on and is semi-synthetic 10W40. The originally specified 20W50 was the best oil available at the time, but things change and I'm pretty sure NLM don't use anything except semi-synth 10W40. Is a full synthetic a no-no on a Morini - other than cost? Ther...

Re: morini 2502c seat replacement

Another vote for Leightons who have just done an excellent job on my 2C seat. I have a manky old 350 seat base I was going to throw away, but after this thread I think it will end up on Ebay.

Re: Moto Morini - Current Situation

surely the tooling and designs are worth buying; what about the spares inventory? somone like 3X might be keen to provide support for owners going forward if the price is right? In the case of Voxan an outfit called SIbel purchased all the spares and presumably the designs and tooling. They are jus...

Re: Fork Springs

On the Rotarini (Rotax 250 MX in a Morini frame) I found standard Marzocchi springs and spacers too 'heavy' as it was much lighter than a 350 Morini. No progressive fork springs avaialable then (1988) so I took out the spacers and replaced them with a pair of old Morini valve springs in each leg (ha...

Re: building a racer

Hey 72 degrees, I just found your bike on Youtube. Sounds really nice and crisp. Cheers Andy Not bad for a first start up. Sounds even better now I have the carburation set up better. When I get the 2C/375 back on the road in the spring and through the MoT test I'm going to try the NLM ignition pic...

Re: Moto Morini - Current Situation

I suspect that the 'marque' may be bought by someone even if the site, buildings and other assets don't go with it. The 'Voxan' name has been sold to a builder of electric cars (including sports cars) and is posssibly destined to appear on a PTW again.

Re: Have I left it too late to get one?

When I decided to give the 2000 Voxan Roadster the coup de grace (it is already a classic in French eyes, but I want a reliable modern bike) I thought long and hard about a 9 1/2 or Corsaro. The seat height put me off, and I also didn't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire with regard to...

Re: Warranty Spares

I was pleased to find that Voxan used the same oil filter as an Aprilia which you can even get from Halfords. Until the factory closed I had no problem getting parts for it. The dealer in Limoges that arranged the deal could supply most things within a week or two via DHL (not that I ever needed muc...

Re: Lubrication products

Apparently Castrol Edge 10W-60 as It's now called is used in Subaru WRX cars. You can't find it in Halfords in the UK but you can get it direct from Castrol Classic oils or Opie. I have seen litre packs in French autoroute services. It didn't seem to cause any slip in the Voxan wet clutch despite be...

Seriously, they are very convenient for on-line purchases of specialist oils. Not sure what i'm going to feed the Shiver and rejuvenated 2C/375 on yet.
