Re: speedo cable replacement

Maybe worth giving Carrot Cycles a call-as they now say they can make just about any speedo/tacho cable. I've used them for Ariete petrol tubing a few times. John Just been on their website - they look great so it looks like I'll be able to order just the internal flexible shaft at £2 per metre ide...

Re: speedo cable replacement

Thanks for that - good to know as there would be expense involved in sending it to them

speedo cable replacement

Venhill cables have said they don't do an off the shelf replacement. Wondering where everybody are getting theirs at the moment. Notice they do various ones to fit Vaglia clocks but wouldn't know about the hub end. They offer a custom made one if I send them the old one but at £37 I was hoping for a...

Flywheel weights

When recently doing a cam belt change I felt a noticeable difference in weight when I picked up an early flywheel as opposed to the more modern one from a K model (originally with electric start). Despite the additional ring for the electric start the latter weighed in as 1.64kg when the older flywh...

removing choke cable from carb

Has anyone got an easy method for this? I'm used to the 3/12 and therefore no choke cable (much preferred)
I want to take the carb. right off the bike to give it a good clean
Thanks in advance

Re: pick up and grey transducer compatability

Thanks for that Robin - I definitely won't be trying to 'mix and match' now. Problem seemed to be with the front pot before swapping transducers (front pot and header decidedly cool) After the swap and test ride I had to abandon testing (late at night and desperately needed a properly running bike f...

pick up and grey transducer compatability

Noticed on my pickup says 'only to be used with grey transducers' - wondering whether this is really the case? I want to start swapping either the pickup from another bike of mine to try with my grey transducers or the black transducers from another bike to try with this pickup. My 1984 k1 bike has ...

front break lever

Ah good I thought it was something like the 350LC . Thats right the thread was different but I managed to retap it to M6 (or what ever it's meant to be) to receive the original morini adjuster.

320mm disc

Thanks George, Thats great that you can still use the original fork legs. I did actually make a replacement disc from scratch some years ago so I have a alloy hub (presumably the offset for the ZX10 caliper is different however). I did chicken out when it came to floating bobbins and just bolted it ...

George, your 320mm conversion sounds interesting. What disc and caliper did you use and was it fairly straightforward? - Presumably a different (or modified) fork leg was required. I really want to improve breaking and really don't want to go down the twin disc route

Which Yamaha?

I did the same thing years ago but now I can't remember what Yamaha model fits I seem to remember that it was one of the RD350's or something similar? It would be good to know as these days there are very few bike shops you can just rumage through levers until you find the right fit. Cheers

since writing that this morning I went and had a look at the 250 engine and saw that the casing looks quite different.
How about the flywheel and generator?
Did you see my other question about the Guzzi cartridges as well Paul in the 31/2 forum?
