Re: Veglia electronic Tachometer problem

Thanks Buzby and Mickey Moto- I used Peter years ago on a Laverda clock and it came back not working, sent it back and still not work...but unsure about him now. Do you think Paul Compton might take it on?

Veglia electronic Tachometer problem

Hi All I would like a working Tachometer. I use blue transducers so to get tacho working I found out from Søren on Youtube that I could buy a circuit from Peter Constantin in Austria: <pconstantin@aon.at> - but he passed me to tremezzo.de who sell his for him <info@tremezzo.de> and they sent me one ...

Re: What size die/tap for crank thread 350 sport?

You can try a thread file if it is not damished en all the thread. Don´t remember the tread an in the moment I´m in Cadiz so cannot look. But I´ve cured the thread of a 500 with this file k-DSCI1091.JPG k-DSCI1087.JPG Thanks Norbert- if you know the thread size it would be useful. Apologies for my ...

Re: What size die/tap for crank thread 350 sport?

I don't know what size the thread is but I would beware using a thread cutting die to try and repair the threads. The die will cut metal away however careful you are if you remove too much you won't be able to tighten the nut. To repair a damaged thread it's best to use a thread chaser this doesn't...

What size die/tap for crank thread 350 sport?

Hi all The thread on the end of my crank on generator rotor side [1979 350 Sport] is a little worn and a new nut has immediately gone stiff when put on end of crank. Does anyone know the size of the thread on the crank end? I am thinking I could use a die to improve the thread so need to know what s...

Re: Jetting issue?

The crankcase earths via the engine mountings to some extent, but at least on my 250 there is a lead from a bolt in the frame to one of the crankcase bolts. I have made the earth leads from the transducers join the same position on the frame but that is not so practical on a 350 where the transduce...

Re: Jetting issue?

That's the way I do it. I thought more towards 50v was desirable, but if it has already been rewound and the rotor has good magnetism hard to see why output might be low. Have you got a dedicated earth leaf from the frame to as crankcase through bolt? Also worth checking the earth points for the tr...

Re: Jetting issue?

An equally weak spark on both cylinders sounds more like low output from the ignition winding on the stator. Forget the resistance, see if you can measure how many volts AC it is pushing out at kickstart speed. Until you are sure of that, don't spend anything on other components. I run the 'NLM' mo...

Re: Jetting issue?

Hi Matt, You said that the pickup didnt sit flat, so we assumed that the cause is that the inner spigot of the pickup is contacting the the face of the oil seal, if this isn't the case then I don't understand. Please ensure that the oil seal is fitted as per the workshop manual as John says, also t...

Re: Jetting issue?

FWIW I never used a strobe on the ignition on any of my Morinis, just set static timing to the mark. Likewise carbs were tuned (ahem) by ear or wires under the slides. I did change a couple of choke rubber discs. I think your carb problem might turn out to be ignition related. Even a badly set up c...

Re: Jetting issue?

On p80 of the Blue book is a statement and diagram concerning correct depth for oil seals. It is my understanding therefore that they should be inserted to that depth (2mm). I was not aware of this for some time. It would be useful to get another view. On airhead engines one has to be careful to in...
