Thanks for that. I have now found it and it is on the steering head. The petrol tank is so big it sort of hides it. Time to get on with the restoration .

I have a crankshaft that I believe is from the 478 engine. Does anyone know the nominal dimensions of the big end and mains please. It is unused by the looks of it so should be standard size. I checked the blue manual but could not see the dimensions. Hope you can help, thanks

Strange that. I had a black 5 speed 500 of that vintage but the frame was kinked. I then acquired a later 6 speed with a kinked frame, that had painted mudguards.
