Re: Choke lever

Oooh, yes, of course - I'll do a bit of searching for one. What has happened is the sticky-outy-clippy-bit that secures the end of the cable has gone missing:

Choke lever

Hi all - I've been meaning to ask this for ages, but for whatever reason just never got around to it... The choke control on my Dart is broken at the handlebar end. I can still start it OK, so it's never bothered me that much - but I'd like to fix it if I can. Does anyone know if the same handlebar ...

Mine are OKish - and I'm happy to lend them to take patterns from if that helps.

Re: Trackday Cadwell 2022

What a bloody brilliant day out. Thanks to all who organised it. And it was lovely to catch up with people and put faces to names. The teeny Dart performed admirably on track, other than a truly dreadful rear tyre that's going to be replaced as soon as I get my pocket money. It was lovely to see so ...

Re: Shock rebuild

Having given it a good clean-up, there's definitely scoring on the damper rod, so whatever oil I put in there now will only end up stopping the outside from rusting, so I reckon it's time for a replacement rather than a rebuild! Shame, as other than that, it seems to be in good shape. I've done a bi...

Shock rebuild

I know that the subject of shocks for the Dart has been done before, but I'm wondering if anyone has any good information on spares availability for the Marzocchi PBS series shock? I whipped mine out this evening after some rather alarming moments at Cadwell last time out, and it's definitely seen b...

Re: Sticky starter

Please count me in too... although currently my starter isn't misbehaving, I know it's only a matter of time really. And I'd hate for something as small as this to take the bike off the road permanently! So if there's any chance to get a batch made up, I'll happily have one or two. (Been a long time...

I reckon I could be up for that (assuming we can all get fuel by then) :)

Re: Ducati 750 Sport

That's really good info, thanks. I've found quite a good source of info. at http://forums.ducatipaso.org/viewforum.php?f=13, with links to parts books, workshop manuals, and quite a lot of other useful information to digest! I may take a look at some high compression pistons while I've got the motor...

Re: Ducati 750 Sport

I've ridden a few of the successor - the 900SS. Good bikes. Did the 750 Sport have the single big Weber carb? Iirc that was a nightmare to set up and swapping for twin carbs was the way ahead - or that could have been the 750 Paso. 16 inch wheels too? Yes, on both counts. I'm going to rebuild it as...

Ducati 750 Sport

I guess this may be of interest to some, so probably worth a mention. Despite never having owned an Italian bike before the Dart, I now appear to have two. I say 'appear' as I'm not completely sure yet that the other one is all there: https://nronketti.files.wordpress.com/2021/08/235774696_175097087...

I fitted a little charging indicator light to mine: img_20210718_202253.jpg Easy to fit, and seems to be working nicely so far. I got it from https://gammatronixltd.com/epages/bae94c71-c5b6-4572-89a1-e89006e78fbe.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/bae94c71-c5b6-4572-89a1-e89006e78fbe/Products/BIKE-E-12V - ...

Re: 5th gear whine

Just to follow up on this - the charging circuit shenanigans did end up being a bad earth, as expected. This became immediately apparent when I wiggled the earthing point on the front fairing mount, and next time I pressed the starter button, the passing light flashed... Easily fixed, and I took the...
