Re: my new morini 500 sport project
Hi yes but i needed a rough setting so I can run the engine and set the timing spot on. Then I will revist the carbs. On a good note the the alternator is generating 27v ac open circuit and does actually charge the battery via the boyer regulator. I still have to source a high amp start relay.

Hi newbie here. I am stripping the carbs to replace all the seals and gaskets as the chock jet seal in particular has just fallen to pieces. I got a gasket/seal kit from dellorto but there seems to be alot more seals and gaskets in the kit than I can see on the carb. I have removed the idle mixture ...

Re: Bleed Nipple
I recently had same issue for all my brake calipers on my 1981 500s. I used ball bearings left over from my BSA headrace and modifed standard m10 x 1mm thread bleed nipples by filing ends flat till hole apeared in end then drilled a countersink into the end. Its worked well on both front and rear ca...

Re: Electric Start 501 cable routing.
Thanks for the great help. The spare one must be the later version and the one fitted must be the earlier correct one for my bike. Ive stripped the motor and that spins up nicely on the bench so I will clean up, grease the chain and reassemble. The bike was fitted with a plastic relay and there was ...

At last some progress. Rewiring done with new left hand switchgear off yamaha ATV. Hi Ive got the seat retaining mechanisim on my 1981 500 sport but not the lock, just a hole. Are these available anywhere or can some other lock be made to work with a bit of fettling. I still have a good spring on the latch but if it breaks are they available any where. Cheers
