Re: Cylinder head gasket sealant

Hi ya, i've recently discovered Stag Wellseal, which did a fantastic job of sealing the filter housing on my always leaking air-cooled camper and most guys in the VW camper world swear by it. One big advantage it has over silicone or hylomar type sealants is it can be applied very accurately with a ...

Re: 350 Conrods

Firstly thank you for replys about conrods, but while we are now all talking crankshafts here is another query for people to ponder (sorry i've hijacked this post back!). I'm planning to build my ultimate 350 and have both an early crankshaft and a later type (from a X2) - does anyone have any thoug...

350 Conrods

Hello,

does anyone know if you can retro fit the better conrods from a plain bearing crank onto the early double roller bearing type crankshaft?

Thanks for your help, Tony

350 Rear Brake Pedal

Hi everyone, does anyone out there have an old standard rear brake pedal from a 350. I'm not bothered what condition its in, as all i'm after is the section where it bolts to the frame and the cable connects to, so if its bent or rusty i'm not to concerned.

Many thanks, Tony

Currently running BT45, and i can remember Alex once telling me i should run them higher than the manual suggests but cannot remember exactly what he said! Any advice anyone? Many thanks,...

Re: Early (1974) Strada instrument brackets

Hello there, yes i'm sure i do somewhere, i'll have a dig around in garage for you. If my memory serves me correctly mine were a copy so they don't have the circular "moto Morini" bit, but they might help you?

Cheers, Tony

Hello everyone, this may sound a daft question but how are you timing your rear cylinders with a strobe? My early 350 only has a timing mark for the front cylinder, do later ones have two marks? or am i missing something obvious here?

Many thanks, Tony

Batteries and Charging

Hello everyone. My question is about batteries and charging them. I have an early 350 with a 100w generator, my question I’m sure will be a simple one but does the size of battery fitted have any bearing on how much power it takes to charge it? I.e. if I fit a smaller battery will it give the gene...

Hi Paul (or anyone else for that matter), i know this thread was a long time ago but i'm about to rebuild my early 350 and wondered where i would get the Roller Bearing Conversion you mentioned from? Is it the one offered by NLM?

Many thanks, Tony

Leaks?

Hi Nick, only me. Silly question, but where are you getting leaks from? the crankcases or still from the clutch cover?

But glad to hear that bike is up and running.

Cheers, Tony
