Re: paint issues

To be honest I don't ride the bike that much during the winter, mainly because I'm out of the country working for a large part of it, and given how quickly the paint falls off I tried to avoid riding in salty conditions where possible. I found that the problems intially shows up on the clutch cover ...

Re: paint issues

No worries about the topic change :) I'd just seen this in the diary and would have loved to be able to make it, especially as it's just down the road from me. Unfortunately I work overseas and will be away for all of April. Typical timing really. All the good stuff goes on while I'm away. If things...

Re: paint issues

No progress on this so far.... To be honest, with the current situation with Morini I'm not expecting much more to happen about this. I've chased 3X to see if they have had any luck/are likely to be able to source any further spare parts but am still awaiting a response. Maybe, if they have enough p...

Re: paint issues

Been away for a few weeks so not followed up on this but attached are a couple of pictures of the paint issues I'm having. http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg78/IanH147/clutchcover.png http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg78/IanH147/IMG_0384.jpg http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg78/IanH147/IMG_...

paint issues

Hi all, Been a while since I last posted on here but still mostly happy with the Avio. I am however a little disappointed by the durability of the finish on the engine. Last year (after one year's ownership) I had the clutch cover replaced under warranty as the paint was peeling off. 3X were pretty ...

I suppose as the proud and happy owner of an Avio I should throw in my tuppence worth....pretty much what morini_tom said! I came across the Avio whilst busily browsing the internet at work one day and was pretty taken with it from the start. I arranged a test ride with 3x, took it out, was hooked a...

Corrosion

On the engine casing on the right hand side of my Avio, where 'Moto Morini' is machined into the cover, the letters are starting to tarnish and the paint is beginning to bubble up around the letters. Nothing major yet but corrosion on a 4month old bike is a bit early isn't it? The bike is garaged an...

That's a bit of a blow. He sold me my Avio and has been exceptionally helpful on the occasions that I have been in touch with 3x since.

Hope he gets fixed up with a good job somewhere soon!

1st Service

Well, made it to the magic 1000 miles so my Avio has been back to 3x for its first service. Had a new indicator under warranty as it was a bit temperamental but other than that all ok :) Good service by 3x too....plenty of cups of tea and they let me go and play on a Hypermotard for a couple of hour...

I guess if this is the only downside I can live with it although it's a bit of a pain as, living in Bristol, I'm invariably stuck in traffic at some point in any journey and that's pretty much 1st gear territory all the way I'll get them to have a look next month when the service is done and see wha...

I've partly put it down to being new and me not being used to the bike but having to ride the clutch below 20mph just to keep the revs high enough to stop it lurching isn't great!! Hopefully 3X will get it sorted for me quick sharp! They've been pretty good so far :D

Will any of these updates apply to the Avios as well? Mine is pretty rubbish at low revs around town (got to be in first at 30 to make it useable and it's pretty lumpy even then) and often stalls on the approach to lights, junctions etc. I've put it down to being new and not run in yet but will have...

I have my insurance through Devitts. I wasn't able to get a quote online though, as like you say, they don't have Moto Morini as one of their listed manufacturers. In the end after much searching I ended up phoning them and arranging it over the phone. Very helpful although they did struggle at firs...

That's pretty much what I thought. It's not a huge amount but it's enough to make wonder .... and it stops my bike looking all shiny and new  I'll get onto 3X when I get back home and hopefully they'll have a look and give it the thumbs up or not. I bought new too so there shouldn't be any prob...

Week2, problem 2...

Well I'm into my second week with my Avio and another problem arises albeit considerably more minor than the last one: rear offside indicator has packed up. The bulb's fine and no obvious disconnections but unfortunately I've had to go away to work for 5 weeks so won't be able to check it out until ...
