Hi,
Hope the bike is going?
I would choose the Pirelli, but only because they do a good calendar.
Did you sort the carbs? They probably need a good degumming - unleaded fuel is horrible.
regards,
Mike.

Hi,
No worries, I was expecting problems too!

PM sent.
thanks,
Mike.

Mike (Moriniless for moment)

Re: Missing bracket for air filter housing
Hi, I used Castrol. Can't remember the type, but maybe Power 1 as I have found the can in the garage. This is the Castrol recommendation for the Morini. 10W-50. Glad the exhaust is fixed. Dell'Orto in Reading are usually next day with the spares for the carbs. They give a great service. Look forward...

Re: Timing belt in Cheshire
In gear, son stands on brake, I work the spanners, and on the Morini's I've had the flywheel pops off. Forgot to mention, never hammer the end... ... and on reassembly ensure you secure the nut to the correct torque.

Re: Timing belt in Cheshire
Hello, The special tool is a puller which screws into the flywheel. I believe there is also another tool which holds the flywheel, but I have never needed this. I think you are wise to see how it is done if you are not confident. Once shown then it will be easier the next time. The pullers are about...

Re: Latest factory news
Same with the main Company website too. Just a note on entering the site would be enough. At present it makes it look like MM is out of business as the pages have not changed. Does anybody know if parts are available from the factory still? I would imagine it would be better to produce something the...

Hello,
No, still in my garage, looking more forlorn as the days go by. Every time I enter the garage, I'm sure a little tear emerges from the headlight....

Re: Suitability of 500 for touring
Looks like I've started something here for another topic area..... So to recap the answers: 1: Buy a BMW 2. Buy a house in France as it is less distance to the interesting roads 3. Go on my own and upset my son 4. Buy a trailer 5. Avoid motorways 6. Turn GB upside down so the North is nearer France ...

Re: Suitability of 500 for touring
I blame my son.... since taking him for a long weekend in France last year he enjoyed it so much he gets upset if I leave him at home now. If it was just me I'd take the Dart with a gallon of 95 starpped to the seat....

Re: Suitability of 500 for touring
Hi, Thanks for the response. I was thinking of 'Strada', so hopefully back problems wouldn't be an issue, unless the footpegs are that badly positioned. The only problem I have is that to get to the interesting bits in Europe you need to get to them on the Autoroute. Or do you? 110km/h is great for ...

Re: Suitability of 500 for touring
thank you. The more I read the more I think a lower powered two wheeler is just right for the job. Do I really need 120BHP, £100 tyres every few months, wrecked chains and poor fuel economy? Can't remember the last time I went more than 2/3rds of the way around the tacho without being in licence los...

Suitability of 500 for touring
Hi, Never ridden a 500, but is this bike suitable for touring Europe (300 mile days max) two up? The economy and handling will be right, but what about comfort and keeping up with modern traffic on the Autoroute (80 MPH / 130 Kph)? Just returned from a great trip on a modern Honda and did not exceed...

Dart 350 -
I am thinking of selling my Dart. Had it for 20 months. We have bought an old house and I do not have the time to get it on the road. Has no MOT, on SORN. Engine starts and runs. Was MOTd last January but taken off road last winter. Any reasonable offer considered bearing in mind it's current 'off t...
