Re: Historic Vehicle Tax

I don't know what counts as proof these days but it is the build date that matters, so if you have a bike that
sat around in a show room or was not registered for some other reason and you can prove the build date
is before 1976 then you can get free road tax.

Re: Radiator and Overflow caps scrambler 1200

One valve opens at 1 bar allowing coolant to escape to the bottle
but there is another anti vacuum valve that lets the coolant flow
back as the engine cools down.

Re: Historic Vehicle Tax

Beware the Ides of March! There is a debate over whether in future years a historic vehicle will be heavily restricted in it's usage. This happens in some countries. Organised runs only, no general use, no Bank Holiday or Sunday use. Mike. Who knows, depends on who offers the best bribes, sorry lob...

Re: End of Tether

There's a post on here somewhere it's recent and shows how to remove the resistor from the plug caps worked well on mine. If you do go this route get the ones with the slight angle at the top as they have the screw holding the resistor, the straight ones can be done but it's held by a washer and has...

Re: Steering damper.

My Sport has a steering damper, and my Strada doesn't. If anything, the Strada is slightly more stable than the Sport (slightly smaller diameter rear tyre?) As EVGuru said, the steering damper seems to be for marketing/cosmetic purposes. If you do want a replacement, NLM sell them, not original but...

Re: Starting technique

There all likely a little different but how I start mine is get it so I can feel compression then just put the slightest bit of throttle on and give it a swinging kick, it does not need to be a almighty kick if it's going to start it does not take much at all, this works even from stone cold no chok...
