Re: Stripped exhaust port thread
Would you mind posting some contacts for the engineering business in SA that has done inserts for Morini heads? I am in Queensland and have some damaged threads, as do at least 2 other local Morini owners. Thanks, Garry

Re: Balance factor
Simon,
Thanks for your input. I don't have any concerns about the work of this company, based in Brisbane, and yes, they want everything that hangs off the crank. I was hoping that someone had some info about the balance factor these motors originally employed, as a starting position.

Balance factor
I am considering having my motor dynamically balanced. Can anyone tell me the factory balance factor, and /or report on any factors used for sporty road use.

Re: Ball bearing replacing Timing side bush
I have found listings for a replacement Cylindrical Roller Bearing on the Danish Morini site. NJ206=30x62x14 and NU1007=35x62x16. Is the original oil feed to the Plain bearing usually blanked off via the sludge trap when the Plain bearing is replaced by a Ball or roller bearing?

Re: Ball bearing replacing Timing side bush
Paul,
Yes it does have the 3 holes. As I said it is a K model, and the plain bearing has been replaced with a 12mm wide 6908 Ball bearing. I was asking if anyone could provide the dimensions of the Roller bearing that is commonly used in this conversion.

Ball bearing replacing Timing side bush
On pulling my K 350 Sport down, I found that the Timing side bush had been replaced with a Ball Bearing measuring 40x62x12. Searching the Forum hasn't bought up any mention of this approach. Sadly the narrow race left most of the oil hole in the crank exposed, which I believe may have led to prematu...

king bearings big end bearing
There have been a number of posts regarding undersize big end shells from King bearings. Can anyone supply the Part No for these? I imagine they will be -20" from the nominal 29mm size. It is very hard to find stockists of Plain bearings in Australia. Any alternatives would be handy too. Thanks.

Re: neutral detector
I have now bored the neutral switch boss on my 500 and fitted a neutral switch from a 501 motor. If I could find another neutral switch I would do the same with the 350 but apparently they are scarce.

Re: 520 spprockets
Thanks again for more helpful information. I did have my drive sprocket turned/ground down to 520 width and can confirm that those original sprockets are unbelievably hard!
I do hope to eventually convert to belt final drive, but want to be sure of my ratio choice before that step.

Re: 1977 3.5 Sport Restoration
Paz,Thanks for the ultrasonic cleaner info. The bike looks great! I have swapped my forks to put the calipers behind too. Looks better, especially when the 320 disc placed the caliper further from the leg.

Re: regulator wiring
Paul, I couldn't read the markings on the red plastic above the spades in the photo you posted but you mention 2 spades marked 'Rosso'. The reg/rec that came spare with my bike looks to be the same as the one you photographed, but mine are marked G G R +B L C. Would you mind listing the connections ...

Paz,
Could you tell us what medium you used in your Ultrasonic cleaner for those carbs? They look much better than the results I have been getting from my cleaner.
Thanks
Garry
