Re: Welsh Section?

Being in the town centre Brecon Market Hall LD3 9AH is a great venue

Shall we set a place and time to meet up on the day so folks can put it in their diary?

I'm happy to fit in with your groups plans for the day, Ian

Re: Welsh Section?

Robin, that's a perfect event/venue for an initial get together.
Could you post more details, please?
Many thanks, Ian

Re: Welsh Section?

Hi Robin, I'm in Carmarthenshire and Brecon is not far.

Yet a core different venues might be a good idea if several are interested?
eg The Marches meetings in Wales have been in Welshpool and Llandovery

Really it all depends on what folks want to do?

Many thanks, Ian

Re: Starter Sprocket Spindle Nut

The spindle and the starter clutch are a taper fit, so clean the taper and lightly tap the starter clutch on to the spindle then tighten it up with a socket.

Re: Shop full of Spares. Stock from closed dealer in Barcelona

Hi, I've seen a mount made from a car exhaust clamp (U bolt type) and a piece of bar shaped and drilled
Some clamp on mount system would allow the tanks to be swapped in the future

Re: changing capacity to 501

Omega used to do 500 pistons to order including 70mm for the standard cast liners, giving 500cc
500 heads can also be opened up to take 28mm PHBH carbs
Like Norbert I found that 500 to 501 isn't just a simple top end swap and for me not worth the angst
Good luck with the project, Ian

Re: left hand gearchange conversions

Hi, the twin shock 500 Camels have a linkage system on both sides using a cross over shaft/bushed frame tube near the centre stand pivot.
The later 501 Camel/350 Kanguro square frame arrangement is much simpler with less parts

Re: left hand gearchange conversions

Most later off road Morinis and the K2 have left side gear levers, yet the method/linkages are all different
Have a look at the parts books
Might be more complex if you want to use rear sets?

Re: Starter motor chain snapped

Post cam belt change, time ignition and balance/tune carbs then repeat after a couple of hundred miles
A pain yet it can really improve starting
