Hi all,
anyone managed to fit a taller gearing to a 1980 500 camel?
i took the camel on a camping trip, but sitting a 90 km/h is pretty boring.
i am used to running the 350 at 110 km/h, but the 350 feels like having a taller gearing

Re: Replacing Veglia Clocks With Modern Replicas
i have the GPS speedo on two of my guzzi's works perfectly, the only differences compared to the veglia's : it takes a couple of seconds to find a satellite so you wil be riding along with a indicated 0 km/h fr the first 100 meter, and the red backlight. My guzzi's are my daily transport, changing c...

Re: 350 Exhaust Options
just get chrome ones you are unlikely going to ride it on salted roads, Even crappy italian chrome is going to last if you dont run the bike year round. and you keep your bike original, which is a good idea if you ever sell it. Sell a Morini ???? OK ,<counts on fingers> 4. Never going to sell the 2...

Re: Elektronik Sachse Ignition group buy
not sure if you should expect electronics to be able to survive connecting the battery wrong.
i can for a fact tell you the regulator and rev counter of a morini does not ( dont ask....)
i doubt the sachse unit will , the one on my guzzi died in normal use...

Re: Elektronik Sachse Ignition group buy
not sure about the sachse system, the one on my guzzi le mans broke down it was on the bike when i bought it , when it broke down i never managed to get it repaired. after sales service may be better if you buy straight from them, but i was not impressed. but i can vouch for getting a aftermarket ig...

the budget of the average classic ducati owner is quite different from what Morini riders are prepared to pay, we morini riders are a cheap bunch

Re: Voltage Regulator
i fit 10 euro aliexpress regulators to my bikes ,my 350 is currently running a xv250 regulator, but i suppose any other two wire regulator should do the trick. i never attempted to get a warning light working , so the lack of warning light might be a drawback. to be honest , i never bothered they ar...

Re: SWF ignition
i've got the programmable one (as i already had the cable from the guzzi ignition)
but it runs fine out of the box , so have not feeled the need to change from the original settings.
for the coils , i've got xv125 coils.

Re: SWF ignition
there is preciously little electronics involved , just one printed circuit board replacing the original pickup, on top of the ignition you will need a set of coils, i use 10 euro aliexpress coils on all my bikes. i dont know what type of camel you have , the early camel had a weird 6/12 volt system,...

Re: SWF ignition
my 350 has been running a SWF ignition for a couple of years, once properly sorted out ( the prototyping of the ignition was on my 350) it has been trouble free. my 350 has a electric start, and it always starts first touch of the button hot or cold. basically flawless. I converted my camel very rec...

Re: Bike still lurching forward with clutch lever pulled in.
you might also check if the springs are equally length, pull the clutch , and check if the pressure plate moves exaclty the same distance all around. a weak spring can cause the pressure plate to tilt , making a clean clutch release next to impossible you might need to add washers under the spring s...

Re: Ignition starting problem
not sure at what diagram you are looking , but on the morini wiring i think the green wire is the stator wire , so would not be in use with the sachse ignition unless somebody modified the wiring harness , then it is hard to predict what goes where. for a start you should have 12 volt at the sachse ...
