Live in Hackney; -work in Kings Cross; ride to Battersea once a week. -Don't get out of town much on the bike really but do try to ride to Ripon a couple of times a year then have fun in the lanes there. I've not seen another 500 about at all; -mine is a "cosmetically challenged" Black/Red...

Advantage in riding in winter

Your bike runs better!
Mine does anyway; it seems taughter my mate rekons it's to do with the oxygen content in the air; -something about rain making the air denser.
I've just spanked the 500 accross town and it's pinking outside. Bloody great start to Friday. :D

Update:
The brakes feel fine with the braided hoses; -you have a lot more power and the bite point seems crisper. No loss of feel whatsoever. Highly recommended.

Braided brake lines

Hi all, My brake lines are getting spongy; time to change to either new rubber based or metal braided ones. I have a Laverda 500 (unfortunately in bits) but remember when I "upgraded" to braided hoses on that I lost a lot of feel. The Morini has basically the same setup I think (is that ri...

All in it was E129.69 or about £85. Really good considering a pair of 2nd hand ones was going to set me back over £160!
If we meet mate your pint's one me.

Oil

Hi all,
What does everyone use? I'm going to change mine soon and check the belt and thought I'd see what others use.
Cheers

Whoo-Hoo!!

Thanks for that advice, but I shouldn’t be allowed within 5ft of a soldering iron mainly for my own safety but also for the sanity of man. I have just got a set of new MKII ones from Wolfgang Tritsch. (top name) –arrived in 2 days flat . Terrific service. I was out at 6am under the Hackney drizz...

Thanks

That's a top site; I'm going to do a bit of research on whether I'm capable of sorting this out myself. In-Moto are going to Italy but not for a few months; -NLM can sort out 350 transducers, but I need a pair and they are slightly retarded plus £69+VAT each; so that's an option albeit a last one.....

My 500SEI has iron disks now; -a few years ago they were chomed. i never bothered getting them re-chomed when they started to go as they work so well in the wet. In fact I think they work better ( have more feel) in the wet; -Gawd know why.

Thanks Robin; Update is good news! I spoke to InMoto's Roberto (Very helpful fella) and Stuart at NLM and found that the grease used by MotoMorini goes so hard it can turn into little lumps of iron. They also told me how to get another life from the cone set: -apparently you can turn them though 180...

500 SEI Transducer

Hi all, My 500's front transducer has stopped transducing.. It’s my only form of transport and I'm out of luck with NLM. I don't suppose anyone has one that's for sale; -mine is stamped 32393; and is flat on the side. (No bump) In Moto unfortunately don't have one either; so I may be bussing it fo...

Headstock bearings

Hi all, My headraces are shot, -I changed the ballbearings in the vain hope that a couple of quid and an hours work would do but it didn't.. I've just spoken to NLM and they don't have any taper roller jobs, nore seem to have ever had any. The price for a set of cup style bearings is over £100 whic...

Tyres

Hi all, I replaced my tyres (Roadrunners) last winter, and decided to try a Supervenon set. -The front is only available in 100/90; -but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. My advice is don't do it, -not only is the handling a bit tippy, but the tyres edge has cracked already. The tread is virtaully ...
