Thanks tor info lads , will be doing as you suggest add another wire through the stem and earth to h lamp shell I haven't been in the shed for a while the brain fog is starting to lift will be on the road soon . Thanks muller

Had a look at the eBay one, similar to a Honda one that is somewhere in the shed maybe fabricate to fit , if I can find it, take on board what your saying no key lock , so fit catch and poke your finger in the hole ! Thanks for swift response Tom, I didn't realize it had a key lock arrangement a lot to it really ,which on my bike is missing , just a hole in the frame were it should go and no latch mechanism so back to the cable tie , great pictures by the way it clears the mystery of what is missing on mine and ...

It's worth checking the piston is the right way round the blue book has an image the combustion chambers in the piston have to be in correct orientation and the piston bosses are offset if your taking the barrell off just a thought as you say a reoccurring prob with rear pot easily done in a hasty r...

It sounds like it's hunting for fuel have you tried another set of carbs or maybe loan a pair I have put manual fuel taps on mine it's on or off to eliminate doubt , as the electric one was buggerd check the slides are in the right way obvious but check as you say there is no air leaks like us all t...

It is meant to be a tight fit , I drifted it on with a piece of metal tube if it's loose it will ware the woodroof key as this only locates the pinion if it's loose put some loctite on the shaft it came off so it should go back on with a couple of taps .

All belts are generic I don't know of anyone making graded belts it's pot luck some of the gates belts are slack and some fit ok same with megadyne Goodyear etc what Iam led to believe pirrelli stoped making graded belts years ago if Iam wrong please tell me were I can buy graded belts in my case re...

Check the primary gear bush isn't loose causing the lift when clutch depressed mine did similar used loctite to hold it in place worth a look.

Yea prob they were ground to bearing size stated on box and they took that amount off the crank and never tried fitting them you are right in what you say I then had the fine tune myself as I didn't think much of the place I took the crank to they were car not bike engineers you live and learn.

Found box that replacement big end shells came in, from nlm they were made by king bearings 0-20 metric size and had the crank ground to suit but still had issues as already mentioned. Hope this is of some help.
