Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Very Good Dr J, Looks like you have things planned out well. I'll research the sprockets that fit the DART as see what is what.... You have the "M" cam in your motor and I bet you'll see more top end power with an L-5 cam slipped into the motor....Others on this site are well versed on whi...

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Hello Jarl, I'm here in Southern California preparing a 1985 Morini 350 K-2 for Bonneville as well. I will Not be ready to run this year at Bonneville but I am planing to have shake-down runs this fall at the El Mirage lake bed here in California. We will be in Different Classes as I'm Supercharging...

Re: Expert help needed!
When you say it runs well cold I assumed that is with the choke/en-richer being on. If YES, then the mix is too lean when warm...
However, if it runs well with the choke/en-richer OFF. Then 72degrees is correct that the mix is most likely too rich when warm .
Good catch 72degrees....

Re: Expert help needed!
I'd bet your carbs are just too lean coming off idle (low speed circuits)... OH kits don't adjust the mixture they just replace what is worn and dried out. ...You need a local carb Guy to set the float height, check for dirty bleed circuits and/or air leaks, and re-jet if needed..... Good Luck Nick,...

Re: 350 cylinder head air flow Part II
Brian makes a great point. The more you modify a bike, the less usable it becomes for all-round riding. All or nothing race bikes are miserable to deal with in traffic... As I'm only interest in the absolute speed I can wring from this bike, I can sacrifice everything else to get that last little bi...

Re: 350 cylinder head air flow Part II
I like your idea about the smaller intake valve and keeping the larger exhaust valve... That, the extra CC's, and a plenum volume should help quite a bit... The 4-valve calculation are for non-heron pent-roof combustion chambers.... "twist type" rocker arms would be required using a pent-r...

Re: 350 cylinder head air flow Part II
Yes, there can be an issue here at large flow rates... I've seen a few pictures of a custom turbo 350 and the factory 500 turbo bike. I assume you have the custom 350 bits? For the 350, there can be a sizing issue as even the smallest turbos need a minimum exhaust volume to spin up enough to make bo...

350 cylinder head air flow Part II
As promised, I've crunched the numbers for 4-valve cylinder heads on a 350's bore and the results are: A 22% percent area increase on the Intake side and a whopping 81% area increase on the exhaust side. This takes the valve stem areas into account, and I used four valves that will actually work on ...

Re: 350 cylinder head air flow
Paul, I quite agree that the seats need resurfacing,,,too fat a fuel mixture equaled too much carbon which held the Exhaust valve off the seat a bit it seems....the rings were sealing fine as per leak-down test...... EVguru, I think Lambertini's design is very very smart for day to day street perfor...

350 cylinder head air flow
I've pulled a cylinder head off due to the compression being a little weak on the front cylinder and it is always good to see just what is inside an unfamiliar power-plant. So here are a few of my observations on these engines so far: The area ratio between the Intake and Exhaust valves is outside w...

350 K2 cam question
Hello All, Smotorboy in California here, and I'm a new proud owner of a 1985 350 K2 with 10,800 miles on the clock. I took it in to my local dyno (rolling road) guy and she pulled 26 Hp at 7800 rpm ... Question ? does anyone have any cam information as to lift and duration on the different cams used...
