Carb type for performance.

Can anyone with experience of changing from square slide carbs to round slide,or even flat slide, find any performance gains to be had? My engine is based on a 350 sport, now bored to 410 with open pipes and foam filters. Used in flattrack racing on speedway ovals.

Re: 3 1/2 Valve spring specs

The blue book do's not cater for possible race setup as far as i remember. I would look at the valve to piston clearance, with some kind of silver solder or Plasticine in the valve area. If you have a high lift cam and raised compression ratio, you may be running out of clearance. I run a 350/410 in...

Re: 28mm Carb jetting

Ok thanks for the input, i have to say the best way to iron out the mid range problem is a dyno with someone who knows his stuff, iv'e used them for years, it definitely got me in the ball park. saves hours of guess work.

Re: 28mm Carb jetting

What made you choose the 262T ? i do not see it listed for other models? i will order both needles and see how it go's. but i suspect it will need the 50 slide, to help the midrange flatspot, so many people ignore the slide, it plays an important role and should be changed if necessary, if you have ...

350 timing advance

Im working on a 1999 350 it wasn't running very well when i took it in, but that turned out to be a split carb rubber. It is better now it has 2 new rubbers but it do's not pull well over 60mph. it go's a bit flat , i strobed the timing and the front cylinder is advancing and i adjusted until it was...

Re: Stainless silencer options

I have 2 Lafranconi silencers brand new never fitted if they are of any use to you? they are not stainless, they were the last 2 that Nlm had at the time, One is black the other was chrome, i sprayed them both with satin black heat resistant paint so they would at least match.

Re: Rough running

Have you tried doing a plug chop after holding the bike at the required revs to make it splutter for as long as is safely possible on an open road, it will give you an indication of wether it is running rich or lean, The needle position can effect it around half throttle, and possibly going down on ...
