Re: 250 2c
We have done 12V conversion on ours as 72degrees said and +flasher relay! For the regulator, stator should be the same as 350 sport/stradas of same vintage, for charging/lighting it has two yellow and one red as well as the green wire for the ignition coil, so you need a three wire type regulator. A...
Re: 250 2c
Clares 250 has run 2.75 front and 3.25 rear since 1993 . At the moment we have Metzeler ME22 front and rear. These suit the bike well and did help to cause a certain well known 500 rider and former chairman whilst struggling to keep up on one twisty mountain road to use one of his well known excuses...

Crankcase breather size
I seem to have an original crankcase breather that is made of fossilised amber and rock hard. Is it 19mm i.d? as the crankcase spigot measures 18.4mm?

Re: BOT 515V
Mark Nice to see more 250s, From the pictures you had at the AGM it looked well cared for. strange thing here ours is a W and was first reg in July 1981, according to DVLA BOT515V was reg in Dec 1980 which means it would normally be a W not a V. I guess the allocated number was a long time in being ...

Re: Nasty Surprise
Hi SoloFrenos, Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.. Did you find out the cause of the seizure. I have exactly the same seizure pattern on 62.4 mm Vertex piston in standard steel liner after 3000 miles on front cylinder only . I think the seizure pattern is almost a four point seizure at 45 degrees...

Re: Help_carb settings_poor pick up after revving to c.4,500
Hi, Whilst it is most likely that your problem will be carburetor related it is worth checking this point, but really only for on the road flat spot, poor midrange or poor starting. Any way some information here may be of interest to other readers. There used to be two original Ducati-Electrotechnic...

Re: Help_carb settings_poor pick up after revving to c.4,500
For carb balancing on Morini its better to use the carb tune u tube manometer than vacuum gauges, its much easier to see the throttle synchronisation, which as penman says is needed to get good progression. Just an odd thought you do have matching transducers (i.e same type), there are at least 4 ge...

Re: alternative fork oil seals
I replaced the fork seals on a 250 2C using the parts from NLM last weekend, no problem. The parts are 31.7 x42x7/9 as mentioned previously. 31.7 mm surely that's 1 1/4 inches! Fork capacity is 160cc I am using 10W (castrol) from Halfords.
