Tarozzi high-rise clipons

Ive just fitted a pair of these to the Threeanarf Sport so that Mrs GB doesn't have to lay across the fuel tank when she does start riding it :D Theyve certainly helped with the riding position though Im a little concerned how easily they will slip despite being bolted up tight. Its the vertical sec...

Re: While my cylinder heads gently weep!

and so you do not drop it down the pushrod tube, magnetise the allen key first so it does not drop off, or a bit of fag paper to wedge it on. That sounds like the voice of bitter experience - is there a tale to tell? I did it myself once with a cam sprocket bolt when rebuilding a Honda CB125 ...

The comedian Rick Hall told of his Aunt once being struck by lightning between the first and second hole whilst on a golf course. He believed that was something to do with her stance

The way we were - perhaps?

A pal of mine sent me this little gem from what I assume was a respected magazine at the time

Re: Swinging arm removal

My 82 Sport has a grease nipple in the right hand end of the shaft. I'm guessing it's standard :?

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

Hello again, Dom. My frame number is 22901, so just a little earlier than yours. Manufactured date is down as 1982. The new hydraulic brake switches arrived from Venhill and were duly fitted, so I now have a fully dependable brake light. Apart from fitting a pair of mirrors it's now pretty much read...

Yup, living up here in the Danelaw certainly has many advantages :D Best not to gloat though, MM, we don't want too many folk to find out!

Re: Insurance - recommendation

Although its a vasstly different machine, I insured my modern bonneville for 80 quid last year with Swinton. I was previously with Bennetts who were around that price the year before but nearly doubled it for the renewal. I know that Swinton were looking at introducing multibike policies so you may ...

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

Hello, Dom. Those rubbers are stamped with what looks like MM so I assume theyre original/genuine. I'd like to get hold of a horn grille at some point. When I got the bike the trumpet was pointing upwards - presumably no rain was expected :) I fully agree with your comments about the indicators (the...

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

Good morning, John. I've re-routed my brake lines now so that they pass between the fork legs below the bottom yoke and above the mudguard. It looks much better. I just need to sort out some guides to stop them rubbing on the paintwork. Something near to the front mudguard mounting bolt on the fork ...

Re: Magical history tour

Praps the old memory isnt as bad as Id feared :) its been a few years since I was in the area on a cycle ride. Sobering to think of the numbers that died on that field isnt it?
Thanks for the pictures. That Morini looks well, much better than one sitting in a garage

Re: Magical history tour

Looks vaguely familiar. Its not Marston Moor is it? We spent the afternoon on Carr Naze, Filey watching the snow buntings. It wouldve been a belter of a day to get a bike out though. I was surprised to see that the bike cafe at Staxton was closed given the glorious weather, but having said that we s...

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

Thanks for that, Mike. As it happens the new 6 quid mechanical front stop switch has already thrown its hand in simply during the course of bleeding the brakes :? How many times have I told myself 'Buy cheap, buy twice'? The original rear hydraulic one is also a bit hit and miss so Ive ordered a pai...

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

When I first saw it, buzby, I thought it was just a duff or shoddy bit of restoration by a previous owner and that it would really bug me. I've since seen one of the brochures on the MRC site that has the same misalignment :? It still bugs me but my irritation is now directed towards MM :D If the pa...

Re: Another 3 1/2 Sport to return to the roads - soon

Thanks, chaps. Re the brake pipes - I wondered if that might be the case - either that or a single line to one caliper and a rigid 'jumper' pipe across to the other side, under the mudguard, as per the earlier twin-disc BMWs like my R100RT. The braided pipes that were fitted have been made long enou...
