New Brake Disc Warning
I'm copying this here too in case some only read the forum for their bike. It seems some people only have ONE Morini?! Since there has been some discussion about discs and some may go for the remanufactured (by Grimeca) discs that NLM have avalable, I thought I'd post a little warning. I bought a ne...

New Brake Disc Warning
Since there has been some discussion about discs and some may go for the remanufactured (by Grimeca) discs that NLM have avalable, I thought I'd post a little warning. I bought a new disc for my 250 for Stewart, along with the soft NewFren pads they recommend. The discs come with quite a rough groun...

Yes, standard 350 master cylinder is perfect for twin discs. Many early disc brakes bikes had oversize master cylinders and are now often crisicised for a 'wooden' feel to the brakes. Sometimes this is down to the fact that the original brake material had a very high 'mu' (friction coefficient) but ...

The Morini discs are pressed Steel, not cast Iron. How much the decision to go with the plated discs was to placate the Americans, who seemed to have an aversion to rusty brakes, I don't know. I can't imagine Morini doing it if it cost more than Cast Iron. With the right pads the HARD chrome plated ...

Yes, it confuses many. The alternator is single phase with a centre tap (split phase), not two phase as is often said, although some would call it bi-phase. The input to the regulator is on the two yellow wires and the output is on the red. The return path is through the frame. The regulator works b...

There's no way I'd go to a right foot brake. I'd rather convert my Dart to a left foot brake to match the others (not going to though). It's much easier to balance front and rear braking if they're on opposite sides. If they're on the same side, your foot tends to follow your hand. That's probably w...

Performance Camshafts
I'm going to be having some cams ground for my own use and if anyone is interested in adding to the order then please let me know.
I have original unused factory L5 and 2+2 cams to use as masters.

If I do get around to making moulds, it will be for the original panels. The rear sections, tank cover, and windscreen panels from a Freccia C9 are the same as a Dart and the tank cover from a C10 or C12 can be modified to fit. Freccias are a little easier to find than Darts, but mostly only C10/12s...

For those who read Italian and are interested in such things, here is a link to the patent on the boost managment system on the Turbo.

Bodywork
Well, I asked for it so I'd better post in it.
How many people have damaged body panels on their Dart?
I'm planning to put a set of Freccia C12 panels on my Dart in the short term, but I'm looking to create moulds for the originals in the long term.

Re: Overheating clutches!
Is overheating a common problem with 3 1/2 clutches when ridden hard? Thoughts please! Mark Mine never gives any trouble now, even if held in at the lights for long periods. It used to be appaling! First; Strip the clutch. A build up of dust will tend to make the clutch drag slightly and once it st...

You will be aware that normal Morini troubles are not really relevant as the Cog, like the Dart, uses a real CDI unit and two coils - not the transducer/pickup affair fro the tre mezzo. The ignition isn't CDI at all, it's an inductive system, hence the larger coils. With electronic dwell control th...
