Re: Aftermarket Rev counter

I've just been on Italian Ebay and there are several original Morini ones for sale, so you have an option.
I suppose it depends on exactly how Italian you want your Italian bike to be, at the end of the day.

Re: Submerged Tremezzo - developments

An update as promised. As predicted by those who know the insurance world, I was offered my K1 back at a price but even ludicrously lower than I had anticipated. However, I still have no workshop, specialist tools or knowledge - BUT - I know a man who does. Paul has been my closest Morini ally in Au...

Re: Submerged Tremezzo

"Worth" is an interesting word. Viewed solely in a financial sense, maybe but maybe not. Absolutely anything I need to import will carry horrendous freight charges from many and varied global sources. So that's everything electrical. Then, there's the question - how about if one has neithe...

Re: Submerged Tremezzo

Things. Are. Moving. Very. Slowly.
I've been offered the bike back at a salvage cost ... but will I go there?

Watch this space...

Re: Some carb balancing questions

Well, it's a new one on me.
I renewed all my carb internals around 5 years ago and have always set them the same.
Once warmed up, I've had a trustworthy tickover around 1,300rpm but of course, the needle says anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500 rpm.

Re: NJB or YSS rear shocks

This was me ten years ago.
I did exactly that: had mine rebuilt, swapping to a pair of Hagons that I knew I could onsell.
There's a pleasure for me in keeping mine as Italian as possible.

Re: Tarozzi rearsets

Damn!

I'm in NZ and could usually get parts from the Aussie stockists. Try them, there are quite a few.

Re: Disc lock/security

They immobilise the throttle as well and like all "anti-theft" devices, absolutely nothing works 100% if somebody wants to steal your bike. These are a good visual deterrent.

I really like the clamps that lock the front brake lever on.

Re: Submerged Tremezzo

Hi all, thanks for your good wishes, I've been diverted by a landmark birthday and not much action re my Morini. The update is that the workshop where it was being rebuilt post-floods that were pre-cyclone is now being rebuilt. Until the workshop is rebuilt, I can't ascertain what's the next step wi...

Re: First Ride and a few questions

Interesting to read your post and remember back 17 years to when my motorcycling mind was 'readjusted' to things Moto Morini.

Lots of it I take for granted now but freely admit I was pretty thrown on a few points back then!

Re: Submerged Tremezzo

I've been to see the bike, it looks laughably untouched. However. The mechanic said the water went exactly 30cm up the walls in the workshop so I can be sure there's water sitting in the mufflers at this point. I was also advised to change the wheel bearings, to be safe, which is a shame as they're ...

Re: Submerged Tremezzo

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. The bike was completely intact, apart from having some of the newly resprayed parts removed - tank, front mudguard. The engine was oil-tight and working well. There's no way I can get there to dry it, it's in a flooded workshop along with all the other customer ...

Submerged Tremezzo - developments

Oh dear. I have just learnt that my 1983 K1 has suffered "slight submergence" while being refurbished after a light accident. I'm told the water went "just higher than the mufflers" but I know no more at this point. I'm making a claim and may be offered it as a buy-back. Can anyo...
