Re: Can anyone help - cylinder cutting out when hot
Bummer!
I was also going to suggest swapping carbs - in fact, I believe you can swap the entire top ends piece by piece if you want as they're the same.
(Correct me if I'm wrong, someone.)
Have you checked the inlet manifolds aren't split?

Re: Starting /battery issues
I would never recommend starting the bike on the centre stand with your weight on the bike. That's how you get a bent/broken stand or frame. Personally I have the bike on its wheels, me on it and kick with left foot. They're not hard to kick over. [/quote] Sure, but I weigh 60kg and in any case, fi...

Re: Starting /battery issues
Aside from electrical issues, using a LHS kickstarter requires some adjustment so here's my advice for getting the best kick. With the bike on the centre-stand and LH enricher/choke up, I straddle the bike with my right foot on the passenger footrest and kick it. No throttle needed. That way my weig...

Auckland meet-up
Hello/kia ora/g'day. You're invited to an MRC NZ Section meeting on Sunday November 13th. Festival Italiano. Osborne Lane / Kent St, Newmarket, Auckland City, 11am - 5pm. Unfortunately, the deadline for being part of an official stand passed sometime in 2004  but I've been to these before and p...

I'm in NZ and I use the same supplier. They have almost everything for our carbs, I believe.

In 15 years I have only ever used Bridgestone BT45s then 46s with tubes. They are fantastic on my Sport.

Rubber washer!
As Norbert says.
Between the panel and frame.
Then you can get it nice and tight.

My double front discs have twin pipes off the lever.
Can't you send a single pipe down and use any splitter off the bottom yoke?

Re: Anyone in Straya looking for a 3½ Sport?
Thanks for the links, Julian. So, there was never an official NZ importer during the V-twin era. They all were privately imported by owners, mostly at great expense and with punitive taxation on arrival. Price comparisons with another country's marketplace are slippery - you just can't do it. Vehicl...

I'd definitely have one! Something for the club to follow up, perhaps?
I wouldn't imagine that area gets more than hot to the touch though, would it?
