no, that's exactly how it should be. It's a vulnerable area though, with no real protection from road dirt so it pays to occasionally remove the lever and the cupped part and grease everything.

Exactly! But the Tarozzi riser ones achieve the same goal without the faff.

I'm curious about why it has handlebar mounts at all, though. Sports originally had clip-ons.
Does it have the 'S' stamp on the crankcase?

Ditto on the rearsets. Mine was fitted with Tarozzis when I got it but there are others out there.

Forget my above post - jetlag. I was commenting about m/cs not calipers.

I know there's a choice of inner diameters (16 or 19mm) but as far as I know, the o/d is the same for both.
