Hi, I've often had carb icing on a road 500 5 speed but never on Mk I/II 500 Camels and they all had the same carb settings along with the standard airbox (same).
Although I once had the clutch cable instantly freeze on a Camel and was left with no drive!
Have fun, Ian

Re: Camel 501 headlight unit LHD
Hi, if it's the P45t Asymmetric type bulb all you do is rotate the bulb in the mounting by cutting/filing a new locating notch in the reflector mount. Look at the bulb first (inside) as the filament shield/reflector gives the dip cut off and work out the rotation, it's only a few degrees. I've done ...

Re: 1980's Morini dealers in Glasgow area..?
Hi, the dealer in Glasgow in the 80s was Clyde motorcycle Centre, 335 Cathcart Road, Glasgow.
Gone by the 1988 when I tried to visit them whilst in Glasgow. Perhaps still in business at another location?
Hope of some interest, take care, Ian.

Re: Planning a 12v conversion
Hi, the easy 12v conversion is to connect the two wires from the three linked stator coils (old 6V charging circuit) to a single phase regulator of your choice. The two linked stator coils (old 12V direct) are not used at all. Then simply wire the headlight circuit (old 12V direct) from your handle ...

Re: A couple of newbie questions
Hi, the first picture is of an ignition switch bracket which attaches to the nearside rear of an air box on a 500 road or trail morini (350 ?), next is a bracket which clamps on the steering damper body, number 3 I don't know and the last photo is of the centre stand stops that are fixed to the fram...

Re: More barrel questions.
Hi, Omega can supply 70mm pistons with the correct combustion shape in the crown Ref 3825 but I think its to order only. Further they may be willing to supply any bore you desire. Also its possible to fit new cast iron liners in the alloy barrels. Any good engineering shop should be able to machine ...

Re: Camel Mk2 Wiring Diagram
Hi Mark, don't know of an online version but it's largely the same as the MK1, with the addition of front stop light switch, tacho light, different idiot lights and without the oil pressure switch / light. The club has a copy of the Mk1 diagram, also I could give you a photocopy of mine, just post y...
