Cadwell 2013 Video

Hi, Had a great time at Cadwell on friday. Despite both my cameras playing up I managed to scrape enough footage from 2 sessions from both cameras. Below is a link to my first offering. I think this may have been session 5:- Session 5 ( I think?):- http://youtu.be/DD6gNtzBkVI Session 6:- http://yout...

Re: Cadwell 2013 Thanks

Hi, Many thanks to all the organisers. My first trackday and really enjoyed it. The Track was excellent and both bike and rider survived. Tyres covered about 60-70 miles on the day but looked to have lost about 2,000 miles of life, but well worth it. I had a front and rear camera running so once I h...

Hi,

Keep us posted on the forum how you are getting on. And I will try and assist as best as I can. What part of Norfolk are you in? I am based over in North Herts.

Re: Moto Gymkhana Morinis

Mark I think Paul's sport was nimblest coming in about 3rd place with a KTM 690 taking top spot followed by a Suzuki Bandit. I came in about 5th just up from a Kawasaki ER6 but ahead of a BMW F800S . But the Morini's put up a good show and certainly took the award for most popular bike with 3 out of...

Re: starting

Hi,

It would be worth checking ignition timing as well. To start with you can check by looking at the pickup with should have an arrow moulded into it, this should line up near enough to a notch on the casing. Have you got any technical books on the morini ie the blue book?

Re: Exhaust Removal -Help!!

Hi, You did well to keep the cylinder thread intact. I had lots of problems with my rear cylinder thread in the head, in the end it was so badly worn and I could not get the exhaust to seal. I decided to carefully drill and heli-coil a couple of stainless studs and used an old Moto Guzzi V35 collar ...

Re: Morini 507 Special

Paolo, Sadly I am not in the market for another bike, but just wanted to say having seen pictures of this before this has to be one of the best looking Morini Specials. Lovely clean lines, the exhaust in the tail fairing has been really well done. I hope you get the price this bike deserves. Thanks ...

Re: Compression test data required

Stu Yes performance-wise it sounds ok, the biggest clue on mine when the rings were worn was that when I start mine I push the kickstart until I feel the compression stop it, but I was able to push past the compression with very little effort. Regarding breather I run the three breathers from crankc...

Re: Compression test data required

Stu, When I had worn rings on my kanguro the symptoms were easy to kick over and poor idling. I checked with my compression gauge and it was outside of the green healthy zone which was around the 100-120 psi mark. I stripped down the head and barrels and measured the ring end gaps and both bores wer...

Re: Carb settings?

Hi, Your jetting sounds similar to my 1984 Kanguro X1, if you remove the flower pot you can increase the main jet size by approx 10 to increase the fuel/air ratio as the carb will breath better. I am running K&N's, I know this is frowned upon but it works, with a 108 main jet. Also I had a 50 pi...

Stu,

Great news and good work, your electrical skills can't be that bad. Let me know when you fancy a rideout before the first snows arrive!

Re: Kanguro X, what battery?

Stu Glad the exhaust is ok. If the swing arm is badly corroded I still have the one from my Kanguro as an emergency replacement. The morini riders club website has a good guide for checking the electrics, try the following link:- http://www.morini-riders-club.com/thebikes/technical/esystem.html Reme...
