Tyres

Post by Aberdonian »

My 1980 Morini 250cc 2C needs new tyres, 2.75 x 18 and 3.00 x 18. North Leicester Motorcycles are recommending SAVA tyres. Has anyone any experience of these? I am mainly interested in GRIP rather than LONGEVITY, so what's the view of the forum?

Never heard of SAVA tyres before but the ever reliable Wikipedia says they are from Slovenia :o
I've always used and would recomend Pirellis.

My 350 had a Sava rear tyre when I got it, plenty of tread but it white-lined horribly and gave no confidence. The handling was transformed when I put Avon Roadriders on. Tyres are not something to try to economise on! (I should mention that the bike had an old Michelin on the front, so maybe the combination of different tyres didn't help).

To close, after a LONG research, I've decided to go with METZELER ME22 front and rear after a ride on a bike fitted with them. Thanks for your comments,
