Was on holiday last week and spotted a 'hut' with motorcycles outside. It was a 'Test Ride Center' 2012 Model, Triumphs BMWs, KTMs and Ducatis.
For €60 chose an F800R (The roads are twisty in Austria) and took my son out for the day. We also borrowed the bike gear from the place - Rukka, Daytona and Schuberth - all top quality kit. Looking on the given map we planned a route to Italy and Switzerland. On the map was posted a pass called the Stilsfer Joch, so went that way. Turns out it is German for Stelvio!
The way up may have been hard but the way down was a bit tricky too, turning right to Switzerland, there were no barriers and the road suddenly became a dirt track for a few kilometers.....
300 kms later we arrived back and put €20 in the tank. The bike handled very well and reminded me of the Corsaro except without the power and bottom end torque, although it did vibrate a tad.
A pleasant day out and a nice surprise... well recommended.
