The Big Road Test

Post by MarkB »

Just to confirm to myself how good Morinis are, I went on a tour run by Classic Bike Provence around Corsica and then to the Gorges du Verdon in the south of France. We had a 1954 A10, a 1966 A65, a 1973 Honda CB750 and a 2003 Hinckley Bonneville (the T140 broke down within an hour of the tour's start, so the Hinckley Bonnie came on as substitute). Some of the twistiest roads I've ever ridden (including the Himalayas) and often a 10-inch parapet wall at the edge of the hairpin between you and a long plummet to the bottom. A fantastic ten days' riding, and I just wished I could have done the whole thing on the 3 1/2 Strada - it would have been perfect.

On our visit to Corsica a few years ago, I thought exactly the same thing! An absolutely beautiful place ... ah ... memories.
