On other forums it's possible to allow members to see direct email addresses if they allow it.
I seem to be unable to send messages and replies to members who have contacted me. These are queued up in my outbox. The replies being personal, I have no means of contacting members directly.
Is there a reason why all messages have to go through the forum?
Is the mail system working correctly, by notifying members of a waiting contact?

Messages appear in the outbox until the user logs in to the forum and reads them. They should receive an email telling them they have a message.

This is what I was thinking, but how do I know they have received the communication, you say they should, but I seem to remember when I first joined that there was a failure in the system.
Is there any way to check.
I'll send you a test message, if I may, and it will prove it's working.
