2015 is the anaversery of the last Morini to finish a TT

2015 is the 35th anniversary of Christine's Morini finishing a World Championship race on the TT circuit. Is this worth celebrating at some time next year? The bike still runs and has the same lady owner/rider!

Wow, I didn't know that.

I checked the TT database (http://www.iomtt.com/TT-Database/compet ... de_id=3414) and it seems that the bike was raced by Trevor Wise (though owned by his wife, Christine). He also competed in 1981 but DNF:
"I also raced a 3 1/2 (350cc vee twin) Moto Morini in the [1980] F3 event. The bike is actually my wife’s, which she loaned out following a road crash, and was race prepared by North Leicester Motors. Following the TT I restored the Morini and Christine having owned it from new in 1978 still runs it! ... I returned in 1981 sponsored by Elby Moto to ride a Moto Morini (no. 89) in the F3 and a 900cc Benelli six (no 66) in the F1. The Morini was tuned and fitted with 400cc barrels and air suspension. Practice was fraught with problems and the Morini was never able to run at full power until race day. The result was a fast bike that matched the Yamahas but which shattered the rear piston on the Cronk ny Voddy on lap 1.

The only other recorded TT result is Tarquinio Provini in the 1960 Lightweight.
TT80 Formula Three TT
Posn No Competitor Machine Time Speed
18 0 Trevor Wise Morini 1.54.05.8 79.36
TT60 Lightweight
Posn No Competitor Machine Time Speed
3 0 Tarquinio Provini Morini 2.01.44.6 92.98

Just noticed your username - are you 'the' Trevor of Morini TT fame?!

Anyway, my answer to your question is 'yes' - it is very worth celebrating!

Yes, it is the same Trevor!

Quite agree too! This story isn't anywhere near as well known as it deserves to be. It might be best in another part of the forum though?

Sorry, Trevor missed this. His Alzheimer's means passwords and things have become an issue. He would love to tell the story of the successful TT venture but cannot ride in the Classic TT because of the Alzheimer's. Could we perhaps write a piece for the Mag? Would someone like to come and chat to him about it?

Christine, I'm very sorry to hear about Trevor. I met you both at the Morini rally two years ago at Henlow and suggested to Trevor that this is something that would make a great article for ATG. If it's geographically possible I'd be delighted to come and talk about your TT experiences and try to write something up.

Regards, Mark. (Hertfordshire).
