Cadwell Park Track Day 2007

Post by Jem »

This is the press release that was sent to the monthlies at the end of July (weeklies & local papers will be cover at the end of August)

Celebrating 25 Years of Morini Track Days

This year the Morini Riders Club will be holding their annual track day on Wednesday the 19th September on the long circuit at Cadwell Park; this will be the 25th year in succession that it has been run. We believe that no other one-make motorcycle club has organised track days for that length of time without a break.

This is a popular event with members from Belgium, The Netherlands & Germany regularly attending. Entry is not limited to Morinis and we are particularly keen to see other small and medium capacity Italian bikes, however everyone is welcome regardless of what bike they ride. Riders with Meriden Triumphs, Gold Stars, Gileras turn up year after year; this year we already have bookings from Velocette KTTs, a Norton Model 18, Greeves Silverstone and a Aermacchi Ala D’Oro as well as Morini singles & V-twins.

The price is £110 for Morinis, and £120 for non-Morinis. A maximum of 114 riders is allowed with entries accepted on a first-come/first-served basis. All entries should be pre-booked and paid for in advance though entries on the day may be allowed if space permits. Riders will be split into three groups - Morinis only, "medium" and "fast" - and the day will be split into 20 minute sessions with a one hour break for lunch. There is a café on site where refreshments and meals can be bought.

You can book up on our website www.morini-riders-club.com where you will also find the regulations. Camping is available for the night before & after where you will find plenty of people interested in talking bikes.

Cadwell Park is a fabulous track for motorcycles, like no other, with plenty of twists & turns and challenging hills. On this circuit less powerful but nimble bikes can show their heels to many a modern sports bike.

The Morini Riders Club welcomes anybody who owns or admires Moto Morinis from the race winning singles of the Sixties, through the famous road bikes of the Seventies, to the off road models of the Eighties and the new 1200cc models of the 21st century. We publish our magazine, A Tutto Gas, 10 times a year containing news, technical advice and Morini stories. We also have a website which has an active forum for discussing anything to do with Moto Morinis, old and new.

Nice article Jem. Unfortunately, the member from Belgium will be unable to attend this year. Really too bad for the 25th year.

Good luck with the weather and safe ride to all participants; enjoy the track, the friendly organisation and the warm welcome.

See you next year,

Bruno
