2007 Morini Factory Visit - 24th September - Italy (!)

Post by corsaro chris »

The Factory Visit moves forward;

A select group are flying down from Stansted on the 7:30 Sunday morning flight, returning midday Wednesday. The actial visit (confirmed by the factory) will take place on the Monday morning, 24th September [not long now!].

We are staying at the Mecure hotel in Bologna, close to the railway station, which is central for the city and only 15 - 20 minutes from the factory. The hotel currently has spaces remaining, at 115 euros per night for a double / twin rom if paid in advance.

For further details either contact myself, Jem Moore or Dave Marlow.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Tempted. Very tempted. We stayed in an Etap in Limoges last week that was a 're-badged' Mercure (Accor hotels chain also) and paid half that.

Not sure its on if I get a ride at Prescott on the 22nd though.

Pete - it would be good to see you there. :)

Tony and I are hoping to get down to Hartland Quay for the last hill climb of the season - are you aiming to do that one?

Well I just started a new short term (two days a week) contract today, so to be fair I can't really see me making it to Bologna.

Hartland? Haven't been since I started campaigning the Tart, but as the Nordie is back on the road I might do it on that.

BTW - Manx 2008?

Ah, the problem of work!

We'll send some photos to the site (webmaster permitting) and the rest will have to just be envious...

Manx 2008? For sure - must be Robins turn to find digs, etc.. Now, what would his name on this form be? No answer required...

For others that might read this trail - there are places at the hotel - Mecure in Bologna, from Sunday through to Wednesday morning - UK booking contact is 020 82834500 [Accor Reservation Services]

Flight & accommodation all arranged!
If you're still thinking about joining the factory visit here's a way to bypass all the faffing around.
Andy Shaw from Norwich very unluckily off-loaded himself on the track at Kings Lynn speedway on Sunday and messed up his knee. This means I have a spare ticket and half a shared room booked at the Mercure for three nights (and a pre-flight B&B at Stansted for the early start).
If you want to know more e-mail me at chairman at morini-riders-club.com.

BTW the flight from Stansted is 7:10am on Sunday
