Dart front pads

Post by nickst4 »

I'm getting confused with listings for Dart front pads. I want to use Goldfren AD/HH grade as I've liked their characteristics on other bikes, and an ebay seller has sent me the Goldfren 006 type. These look as though they'll fit the caliper OK, and the friction material has a width of 25mm.

However, the anonymous pads in there at the moment have a width of 30mm, as does the braking surface of the disc. Actual listings for Darts are difficult to find, but the narrow pad would appear to suit the C9 Freccia, the C10 Freccia (and Mito) taking the wider pad, code 089 in the Goldfren range. NLM mention two codings for the Dart fronts, in this case DP605 and 618, and from my research I think they tally with the two widths.

The more swept surface area, the better, so I believe, but the wider pad is not so well supported by the tongues on the back of the sliding caliper.

Before I embarass myself and start telling my supplier he's got it wrong, I'd be grateful for any advice available!

Cheers,

Nick
