Got ME-22's on mine good and excellent in the wet, would fit the same again.

Hi, thanks for the info. got new avons roadriders on mine, they are excellent, due to the modern compounds no doubt. Just spotted the metzeler ad and wondered if anyone has tried any.

I had Avons on mine the front took a bit of time to scrub in but they were fine after that,
but I do think the ME's are better in the wet, though I doubt they will last as long.

I'm assuming you're talking about the new Sportec Klassic tyres.

They're not really available in the right sizes.

Modern tyres tend to wider than ones with the same nominal size from the 70/80's. An old 100/90-18 Pirelli Mandrake is very slightly narrower than a 90/90-18 Avon Roadrider. Unless the 100/90 Sportec is narrow for it's size, then it's probably too wide for a 1.85" front rim.

At the rear in the Sportec you have a choice of a 120/90-18, or a 4.0-18. The 120 is too wide and the 4.00 is too tall. Morini used a 4.10 on the back, which is a low profile tyre. Several tyre manufacturers list the 4.00 for the back of a Morini, but they often result in the centre stand being barely useable.
