The way we were - perhaps?

A pal of mine sent me this little gem from what I assume was a respected magazine at the time

Fracking hell :)

Yes, things have moved on. Probably why we see no wildlife today!

I remember those days, seems amazing now, however it got me wondering exactly what does the recycling centre do with waste oil, so I googled it but didn't come up with an answer, I obviously didn't ask the right questions.
Does anybody on here know what they do with it?

When I worked in industry we used to have drums of contaminated white spirit, we applied to the local authority for the correct way to dispose of it, the answer was to pay them a fee and they would send an officer to the tip to oversee us pouring it into landfill. Absolute truth. In the end a scrap yard took it to light fires with, not sure which was the worst evil.
