Heated grips

Post by toggy »

Hi all .
The throttle side of on my heated grip has a bust cable ,too close to the grip to do any hardy repair In my opinion . I am thinking of replacing both with a new set of aftermarket ones , but splicing the cables so as to use the existing factory fitted control switch. Can anyone foresee any issues this might raise ? . The only thing I thought of that might be a problem is if the new grips have two heat settings rather than the three settings of the original equipment . I would buy MM grips if they Werent so stupidly expensive .

I had my first throttle grip replaced under warranty for the same reason.. they would only replace the one grip though...I immediately secured it with tape and 2 years on all is still okay.. Like you, when this one fails I shall just splice in a set of after market ones..I cant see the number of heat settings having anything to do with the actual grip, so they should still heat up okay..
