I cleaned my front down pipe first with a green scouring pad then 800 wet and dry and finished off with Solvo Autosol (old favorite) The technique for polishing is to use strips of material wrapped once around the pipe and then you just pull it bacb and forward. My down pipe is noticeably shiney and just needs a freshen up after the bike is washed. I have not attempted the back exhaust but the cat is pretty clean too.

I cleaned mine up with a spray of Optiglanz from Hein gericke if you can find one that isnt shut down...it converts stainless back to shiny although I still ended up with them looking 'golden' not sure if thats due tot he quality of the stainless used on the pipes though>>
