Fallen off GP today in the snow

Post by nfitz »

Took the GP out into the Yorkshire dales today from home (Skipton) and decided to take the road over Hatton Ghill to find it covered in snow/ice. Wrongly pushed on to find a long climb which i attempted and slid back down dropping the bike.
Finally managed to pick her up to find gear change snapped with foot peg also pulled out of thread, and clutch lever bent in semi circle.
Managed to get home (50miles) in 2nd and avoiding clutch ...

Now on www looking for foot pegs and levers.....

Info elsewhere on this site re alternative bits - Guzzi 1100/1200 Breva/Norge footrests fit and are more substantial, got mine from Gutzibits. Early Ducati monster h/bar levers also OK...and cheap. Generic hand guards also about. Hope you get sorted....few of us GPers around as it is!

Put the GP back on the road today - helicoil for the m8*1.25 foot peg bolt that pulled through(cant believe the thread length is so short) new foot pegs off eBay for a cbr600. Straightened the gear shift (hot airgun and a vice) but it needs welding as its cracked where shift peg is riveted. New Ducati 748 clutch lever ( So Many aftermarket copies on eBay - difficult to find a Brembo)
Just got an oil change, plugs, sprockets, Cush drive and chain left to do
